It appears that members of the Republican party are asking that we change course in Iraq before General Petraeus gives his report in September.
However, the White House was correct in telling them "no" until his report comes out.
This makes perfect sense for the White House to do. First off, why cut the general off at the knees when he's making progress? Why change his course of action before his report is due? That's like changing the rules right in the middle of the game. It's not fair to do.
Now, that being said, if General Petraeus' report states that the Iraqi's are failing miserably and aren't doing enough to get back on their own feet, then yes, they have every right to ask for a change in course. Until that report is ready though, it's all premature ejaculation on their part.
