Sure, you're going to have Democrats doing some political grandstanding such as the "all night debate" that's going on right now, however you're also going to find people who are actually LIVING in Iraq right now who are worried about what will happen if we leave too soon.
Of course, you also have Al-Qaeda's #2 guy saying that Iraq is the focal point in their fight with us, so who's right? I think we all know the answer to that question: I am. Democrats are wanting to pull us out before the September report and Al-Qaeda's seizing on it for propaganda saying "See! I told you we could beat the Americans."
Hell, even Russian President Putin has smelled blood in the water and is now going power hungry. It all comes down to weakness. Weakness on the part of Democrats who want to pull out before the job is done. Weakness from people who don't want to take the fight to those who threaten us (Iran...I'm looking in your direction). Weakness on the part of everyone involved who didn't want to let our military take the gloves off, whip some ass, and go home.
Do you know why this war has lasted longer than WWII? Because when we fought WWII, we didn't pussy foot around. We came in, kicked ass, and went home. Sure, there were times where things looked dark, but when it came down to brass tacks, we made sure that we captured or killed anyone who appeared to be the enemy.
That hasn't happened in this war. Everyone wants to second guess troop movements, military commanders decisions, place everyone on Youtube that could possibly be made to make America look bad, and what have we done about it? Nothing. We keep taking more and more bullshit from everyone on all sides and we don't say or do a God damned thing about it.
We're too worried about international incidents with Pakistan when it comes to tribal leaders protecting Osama Bin Laden. Osama's guys were responsible for more deaths than Japan's Pearl Harbor attack. You saw the price that Japan paid in August 1945.
I'm rambling on, but my basic point is this: Get the Iraqi's on their feet as quickly as possible, stop second guessing military commanders, stop taking snippets of what military commanders say and twist it towards your particular point of view ala Michael Moore, capture or kill anyone involved in the insurgency in Iraq, regardless of where they come from (Iran, I'm looking at you again), go into Pakistan regardless of whether or not Pakistan wants us there or not (Remember "You're either with us, or you're with the terrorists"?)
Also, remember that "we will not make a distinction between those that harbor terrorists, and terrorists themselves"? So Pakistan should have NO problem letting us do our thing since they are on our side right? If we break something along the way, we'll write them a check.
When Democrats get serious about fighting against those who wake up in the morning dreaming of killing Americans, then I'll stop treating them like the spineless pussies that they are. Until that day, I'll keep pointing out their idiocy.
That also goes for Republicans. Stand up for yourselves and stop allowing everyone to bash everything that you stand for.
President Bush: Catch a fucking clue. Put more people and more money into getting Bin Laden and Al-Zahahiri. I don't care if it costs a trillion dollars, I want them both dead. Let people in the field do their thing. Give them unlimited freedom and funds to get the job done. I don't care who captures or kills them, I just want it done. Navy SEALS, Air Force bombers, goat farmers in Pakistan, whatever it takes. Stop telling me that "Bin Laden doesn't matter" He DOES matter. Yes, dismantling Al-Qaeda is very important, but the psychological damage killing him an Al-Zahahiri would do to Al-Qaeda's morale cannot be underestimated.
We aren't going anywhere in Iraq until the job is done. To do otherwise is dishonorable to those who died, dishonest to Iraqi citizens, and irresponsibly hand over a very large propaganda piece to Al-Qaeda.
Now look at me, I'm rambling on like a man on fire. :) I just get sick and tired of people undermining the efforts of men and women who stand watch over us and others with a weapon and defends them without asking for anything in return.
