However, when people don't make an effort to secure our airports, you get blood boiling stories like this one.
Security checkpoints are just part of travel these days. They're supposed to keep us safe, so we use them - but not all of us and not all the time.
We've discovered a 4.5 hour time frame each night when virtually anything can be brought into the secure side of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. There's no metal detector, no X-ray machine, and it's apparently not a problem.
Do you have any idea of the amount of damage I could cause with a 4 and a half hour window? Bombs could be placed anywhere, weapons for hijackers could be placed on aircraft, just name it and it could possibly happen. Hell in 4 1/2 hours, you could remove half the bolts holding on an airplane wing and watch it from a distance when the wing failed and everyone on board dies.
It's not a fucking joke here people. These are real threats from real people and if you don't tighten up your security, any one of the above mentioned threats could become a reality. The September 11th attacks started at Boston's Logan Airport. A MAJOR international airport. This is Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix. If Al-Qaeda can slip through Logan, they sure as hell can slip through Sky Harbor with a 4 1/2 HOUR FUCKING WINDOW.
Get on the ball people, or start sending people to jail for attempted negligent homicide.
