I wrote about this before, and there's even a site claiming that the law has been passed, but House Republican leader, Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, and Rep. Peter King, a Republican of Long Island
need to be commended for sticking to their guns over this one.
It goes to show you that public outrage and a sense of what's right and wrong can sometimes persuade lawmakers into voting to protect the constituents who voted them in. I still stand by my comments from my earlier post about firing them for incompetence, because it should never have come to this.
However, if I were running against any of these guys, I'd certainly bring up their "no" vote during the campaign to show the public how incompetent they really are. Public shaming for politicians is the only way they start to "get it".
If you were elected by the public, the public is your boss. If you vote to NOT protect your boss from a lawsuit when they do the right thing and report suspicious activity, then you deserve to get fired.
