Republicans Under Investigation

Let me explain something here. I don't like crooked politicians. Democrat or Republican, if you're caught accepting bribes or not following the rules, you should be removed from office and sent to jail.

So Representative Young and Senator Stevens are under investigation for accepting bribes and other crimes. Now, the RIGHT thing to do would be for these two guys to temporarily step aside while the investigation takes it's course. If they are found to be innocent of the charges, they should be put back right where they left off. If found guilty, removed from office and sent to jail.

That way there is no chance of corruption ruining various subcommittees that each person is a part of, it will allow the public to regain the trust of Congress, and it's simply the right thing to do. If I were under investigation for crimes at my job, you can bet your ass I would be put on paid leave until they found out guilt one way or another. It's a simple matter of we entrust these people to run our nation, and if they fall victim to the lure of bribery, they don't deserve our trust or the job which we elected them to do.

Seeing things like this over and over again makes me start to support term limits on Congressional members. Hell, you could even make it fair. Pass a term limit law for both houses of Congress of say 2 or 4 terms. Any person in Congress at that time that the law is passed are "grandfathered" in. Meaning they don't get to be subjected to that term limit law. Once they are defeated in an election, die, quit, or any other reason why they would stop being a member of Congress, they are then subjected to the same term limits law that a new member joining Congress would be under.

Sounds fair right?
