Oh how I love it when everyone thinks that America is at fault and then irrefutable proof comes around to show otherwise.
It shows complete anti-American bias and allows people to know what shoes taste like.
But here's some raw video of the Iranians trying to provoke a fight with US Navy ships. The Iranians claimed that it was a matter of them not knowing who the ships belonged to and they decided to investigate.
Well that's a fair enough assessment, with a few exceptions.
First off, the ships were in international waters, so there's no need for an investigation. International waters means it's none of your business.
Secondly, they claimed that they could not identify the ships until they were very close to them.
The problem is that in the video, you can clearly see that they are US Navy warships at quite a distance. It is very clear and bright out, and the horn is blowing very loudly to warn the incoming boats. Plus, you can hear the captain warning the boats via radio.
There's audio supposedly coming soon that will show the Iranians threatening the American ships, which the Iranians denied even happened.
Cosgriff, the commander of U.S. 5th Fleet, which patrols the Gulf and is based in nearby Bahrain, said the American vessels had already been identified by Iranian authorities earlier in the day before the confrontation occurred.
"The group had been successfully queried by an Iranian ship, possibly a Revolutionary Guards ship, and two or three Iranian (shore) stations and an Omani station," Cosgriff told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Tuesday.
The U.S. commander also pointed out that the American ships were clearly marked and the incident took place during the day when they could be seen. "I can't help but conclude that it was provocative," Cosgriff said.
So now that the Iranians have been caught red handed in a lie, no one can say that they haven't been warned. Next time it happens, I say we open fire and let them know what it means to come dangerously close to a US Navy warship.
So tell me something, do you think that the US is owed an apology for the way we were greeted with such skepticism? The blatant "GULF OF TONKIN" comments that were thrown around the internet for the past few days? I think we are.
