Democrats Reject Key 9/11 Panel Suggestions

Well of course they would. First off, it would effect them directly in the worst way. They were screaming to have the panels recommendations put into action, but when it comes to "walking the walk", they don't want to quite do it all the way. Plus, since 9/11 was a vast government conspiracy according to their most idiotic members, what's the point of doing anything? Sure, they're wanting to do everything else the panel recommends, but why aren't they doing everything? Because the one thing they don't want to do effects them most directly.

I told you Democrats were weak on terrorism. Now it seems like they are proving me right. Just wait until they try to gut the PATRIOT act or the NSA's wiretapping programs and we're attacked again then claim that the war in Iraq was the root cause and there was nothing that could be done to stop it. Make no mistake, we're threatened on a daily basis, and I'd rather we have a politician that won't take shit from anyone and make more enemies by going after those that pose a threat to us then a politician that just sits idly by and does nothing but piss and moan about how more could be done and how it was someone else's fault, but they don't want to take any action that would have prevented it in the first place.

Can I Be Heartless For A Moment?

Ok, I'm gonna probably come off sounding like some kind of heartless asshole, but now that raising the minimum wage issue has been brought to the table by the Democrats, I'd like to comment on it.

The young woman profiled here came the realization that she would be better off on food stamps and welfare then working at Target. Now, I don't mind raising the minimum wage because raising 3 children on 5 bucks and hour is pretty much impossible. Granted she now works at DirecTV, but I have a few problems with her situation.

First off. Where's the father of these children? Why is he not paying child support? Why is he not taking care of his children like any real man would? That would probably help take care of a big portion of her financial needs.

Secondly, why is it that she cannot take college courses and better her life and the lives of her children? She's a grown up and should know that working entry level jobs for the rest of her life isn't going to cut it. We've all had minimum wage jobs that we've hated, but it takes guts, drive, and ingenuity to make your life better for yourself. Grants are certainly available if she applied herself. She could certainly get a better job once she completed college.

I busted my ass getting to where I am in life. I've certainly had entry level jobs that paid practically nothing and have faced bankruptcy many times in my life. The difference is that I used the options that were available to me to the fullest potential and now I'm merely trying to convince this woman to do the same thing.

One thing everyone needs to understand is that when you raise minimum wage, everyone pays for it. That $3 cup of Starbucks coffee will become $3.50. Starbucks isn't going to eat and extra $2 an hour and not pass that cost off to us. So, feel free to raise the minimum wage, just don't bitch about it when you find out it's costing everyone.

This Is All They Should Have To Worry About

A returning soldier should only have to worry about such odd things about readjusting to civilian life. How many new choices of steak sauce and returning to "normal" life. I'm just glad that all of the soldiers here have a supportive wife and children to return to. Some soldiers are returning to empty homes because wifes and girlfriends have left. These are the soldiers that need that extra handshake and a heartfelt "how are you doing"? "Do you need anything"? This was a nice article about returning soldiers and I thought I would share it with you all.

Taxes go up. Or at least they have a better chance of going up. I really honestly hope I'm wrong on this one, but Democrats do have a reputation as to always wanting to raise taxes. So if your tax bill goes up next year, just remember that good old Travis said "I told you so". :)

Is This True?

If so, you can bet the farm that there'll be hell to pay. Personally, with so many people doubting this womans story, it does make me pause. However, I thought that soldiers remains returned on a military jet instead of a commercial one? Is there anyone out there who's in the know that can confirm or deny this happens? Does a soldiers remains actually fly on a commercial airliner? I would rather my taxes go up and pay the extra money towards a military jet returning the downed soldier then have him/her return in the luggage compartment. It's simply a matter of respect to the soldier and his family.

Al-Qaeda May Target Finanical Firms

Well duh. There are reports of possible computer related attacks on financial firms from terrorist groups. Well if the financial firms have a decent IT department, they really don't have much to worry about. Backups, firewalls, proper security policies and more should be more then enough to thwart any attempt to attack financial firms. I deal with computer threats on a daily basis and one thing that I've noticed more then anything is that if you follow good, hardened security policies, the chances of a successful attack are slim to none.

Of course, nothing is 100% foolproof, but you can weed out almost every script kiddie out there with some simple precautions. Personally, I'd love to see a financial firm have security policies in place that state if they are attacked, attack back. Block the offending person and launch your own attack trying to get as much information about the person as possible.

California seems a little weak in this area. Murder while in the commission of another felony, in this case kidnapping, is usually a death penalty case.

They Owe It To The Families

DNA testing has come a very long way in the last decade or so. So it seems fitting that when DNA testing is asked for in a murder trial, it should be granted automatically. Atlanta child murder Wayne Williams was convicted of killing 2 men and suspected in 22 other murders. If those murders were not committed by Wayne Williams, the court system owes it to the families to find out who did. We did a similar thing at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier. One of the few things I can give Bill Clinton for is that when it was possible to find out who was interred there, he said it was our responsibility to soldiers and their families to carry out tests and close any wounds that they may still carry with them.

False Terror Arrest Leads To $2 Million Settlement

I don't know about you, but if I was falsely arrested in connection with a bombing that killed almost 200 people, $2 million seems a bit low. This is why lab techs need to be right the first time. Check, then double check your findings. In my line of work, a screwup can cause about $1,000 an hour in downtime. In their line of work, reputations and ways of making a living can be ruined forever. That's not to say that this wasn't a simple mistake. It could readily have been. But before you arrest someone, you have to be absolutely sure that what you find is correct.

Something Isn't Right Here

This story doesn't sit right with me. So you have 6 guys who move from their assigned seats to a pattern similar to the September 11th hijackers. They then start "praying" and people are pissed that they were escorted off the plane? You're damned if you do and damned if you don't in a situation like that. What happens if they took over the plane? People would be screaming for blood against the police. What happens if that plane cannot be forced to land and has to be shot down?

So the 6 guys are now complaining that they are being treated unfairly and how people should be more sensitive to them. Well how about they be sensitive to everyone else around them? They should be sensitive enough to know that moving seats and "praying" would upset people and make them think that they could be a threat. One guy has the nerve to say that he's got a "double whammy" because he's guilty of "driving while black" and "flying while Muslim". Well suck it up. I'm guilty of "being white". What does that mean? That means even though I've done no wrong against people, I'm guilty of; Slavery, Racism, Fascism, Oppression, Hunger, Poor Dancing Ability (this one is true), and many other evils in the world that I have not created. But do you hear me bitch and complain that I'm taken off to the side EACH AND EVERY TIME I fly and searched more vigorously then everyone else? No. Do you know why? Because I'm a grown up and know that I'm responsible for my own actions, not the actions of people I've never even met.

I think it's important that when you're running a controversial program, that it receives all the eyes it can get. Especially when you are talking about spying on people who communicate with terrorists and such. There are many people who disagree with this program as they think that it is against privacy and Constitutional rights. However, you'll find the same people usually get all pissed off about people "not connecting the dots" about September 11th. So, how do you purpose to find a common middle ground? Anyone have any ideas?

Corruption

Unfortunate, But Understandable

So an elderly woman lives in a crime ridden neighborhood. Police are executing a "no knock" search warrant on her house and are effectively "breaking in". She probably can't see or hear as well as she could in her younger years and thinks that the bad guys are coming to get her. She fires on her intruders. The police think it's malice and fire back and kill her. I can see both sides of the story on this one and unfortunately, an elderly woman who probably was fearing for her life instead of being a drug dealer, died because of it. That may not be what happened, but it certainly is within the realm of possibility.

Remember kids, don't tell the cops you have a gun and threaten to shoot them and expect to live. Warning! This video is graphic in nature and the suspect eventually dies of his wounds! The audio is messed up in it, but you can plainly see that the suspect throws something at the cops which they've been lead to believe was a gun. If you tell me that you are armed and are going to shoot me, you can bet your sweet ass that I won't hesitate to shoot you.

So I asked "what would happen if the Palestinians got their way and Israeli troops withdrew from certain places". I didn't think I'd get my answer so quickly. It looks like nothing would change and militant groups would continue firing into Israel. I get the feeling that the only thing that will stop militant groups from doing such things would be a cataclysmic event upon them. Nuclear weapons would be out of the question because of the proximity of everyone involved. However, I think that sooner or later, someone's going to snap and and that cataclysmic event will happen. Maybe if we take the Democrat's advice and just give the militant groups what they want we can all sit around the campfire and sing Kumbayha.

So Now You Complain About Length?

We've been involved in Iraq longer then WWII. This is true. However, there are some vast differences between the two conflicts that this guy doesn't want to show. There were vastly more countries involved in WWII. We weren't nation building during that time. We ended it with two nuclear weapons. We lost more than 400,000 lives then compared to 3,000 now. There was significantly higher civilian causalities in WWII. The Soviet Union took the brunt of the military deaths then. We're not doing a "scorched earth" run.

In the end more than 24,000,000 people lost their lives in WWII. It was one of, if not the number one, the worst loss of life conflicts in history. If we decided to massacre everyone within Iraq (which would NEVER happen) the conflict could be over within a matter of months. However, street to street fighting with an unknown enemy who doesn't wear a uniform, who pretends to be a civilian can make the fighting go a lot longer and is more dangerous then anyone can anticipate.

Please Don't Speak For Me. I Can Speak For Myself.

An apology letter written to Hans Blix. Well that's all fine and dandy, but don't title it "On Behalf Of The American People". You don't speak for me. I speak my own opinions well enough. Besides, perhaps you should take a look at some of the things that Hans Blix's team complained about before the invasion of Iraq. Such as Saddam not allowing his team to go into certain areas at certain times. Getting blocked access to certain sites all together. Saddam had been doing this for 12 years, firing on our aircraft patrolling the No Fly Zone set up after the first Gulf war. Russian Intelligence confirmed Saddam was plotting terrorist attacks on American soil. Saddam also had made plans to assassinate George H.W. Bush. You can't tell me Saddam didn't deserve to be ousted because he wasn't a threat. After 9/11, we cannot afford to allow threats to remain. And yes, I know that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, but when you see a threat and you find pictures like this, they don't deserve to be left alone.

So don't tell Hans that "we're" sorry, tell him you're sorry.

Medicare Drug Prices

Man, I didn't think one of the Democrats first order's of business would collapse so quickly. I thought it would take at least a year or two. But apparently, "The Medicare drug benefit, one of the Bush administration's signature domestic programs, was created in 2003 and took effect in January" has made drugs for senior citizens cheaper. It has continued to drop in price 2 years in a row. So it looks like Democrats won't be able to use this issue in reelection campaigns.

I thought Republican's were evil people who were in the pockets of the Oil/Drug/Military companies? So why is it that a Republican controlled congress with a Republican president decided to put together a program that saves our seniors money when it comes to prescription drugs? It boggles the mind!

Damn It

This is why we should have hunted down and killed Moqtada al-Sadr a year or two ago when we had the chance. Now it's coming to bite us in the ass. I get the feeling that this was a political decision rather then a military one in letting him live. The original agreement between him and the new Iraqi government was he would cease all violence and become a part of the new government. Well if he hasn't adhered to that agreement, all bets are off and he should be hunted down like an animal. We have enough problems in Iraq without having to deal with some asshole on the sidelines instigating shit.

Michael Richards "Shattered"

Whaaah! My career is in a tailspin because I made some racist comments! Poor me! Suck it up Michael, you were caught on camera and that's why you're going into damage control. But I wonder why he went on Jesse Jackson's show to do it? Jesse Jackson is a racist himself. He gladly showed up to Stanley "Tookie" Williams' execution and funeral, arguing that Stanley was no longer a threat to society, but he ignored the next man to be executed, Clarence Ray Allen who was 76 years old, practically deaf, blind, and using a wheelchair. If anyone would be considered no longer a threat, I would pick Clarence over Stanley. But why wasn't Jesse Jackson at Clarence's execution and funeral? Because Clarence was white and there was no publicity in it for Jesse.

If Michael Richards truly wants to reconcile, he should pick a better person then Jesse Jackson to get his message out. Making amends with the people he directly offended is a good start. But he can't really whine about it and make excuses and expect everyone to buy into his bullshit.

What If?

I have a question. What if the Palestinians get their way and the borders from before the 1967 war are restored? That's the main gripe of Palestinians against the Israelis for quite some time now. So my questions is, if that complaint is taken care of, do Hamas and Hezbollah simply go away? Does true peace in the Middle East come? What happens if it doesn't? Would you blame Israel if they decided to take the land back?

It seems like the Palestinians love to play the "victim". Bombs going off in clubs, buses, and shopping malls doesn't strike me as them being victims. It strikes me as them being cowards.

So, I wonder when the Palestinians and Israelis will say "enough is enough" and stop fighting all together? It may never happen in our lifetimes, but if it did, it would certainly give one less excuse to every other Middle Eastern country to bitch about.

I will abide by the law, seek the protections the law affords me and as always seek the advice of competent council in effort to resolve this issue. I'm not running, I'm not a fugitive, despite the misrepresentations in the press . . .

If that was true, the federal government would collapse within months from lack of funds. People would demand refunds of every penny worth of tax they've paid over the years. It's simply not true.

Of course I'd expect this asshole to say that we're "trapped" in Iraq. He's the same guy who had the corrupt "Oil For Food" program under his watch. There's also questionable conflicts of interest concerning his son's employment for a company that does business for the UN. Our only reason why we' re not kicking ass from here to eternity is because of simple political correctness. We know where many insurgents are, but we are not going full force. I'm Glad This Is Being Reported

I'm glad that there are reports coming from Iraq that our guys are doing sweeps and flushing out the bad guys. Unfortunately, sometimes civilians can get caught in the cross fire and they do die. But the better question is; Is it the fault of the military that these civilians died because they fired upon bad guys, or is it the fault of the bad guys because they decide to blend in with civilians and use them as human shields? I think it's the latter.

Marine Pleads Guilty In Iraqi Death

The only real question I have about this is why kill this man? Was he mistakenly seen as a threat? Did the Marines snap and just kill him because the man made some "fatal" mistake in the eyes of the Marine? I'd love to know more about this, but all the articles I've found so far don't point to why. I guess we'll have to wait until more details come out.

The Most Important Document Of Your Life

I'm not talking about your Birth Certificate, Your Marriage License, or even the Birth Certificate of your children. I'm speak of the Constitution, specifically, the Bill of Rights. So let's review shall we boys and girls?

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

This means that you can say what you want, even if that statement is offensive to others. There are limits of course, such as threatening speech, but other then that, there's not much you can't say within this country. "Go fuck yourself" said to George W. Bush will only get you not invited to the next Republican dinner. You won't get arrested, you won't get beaten in a dungeon somewhere. Of course, there have been points in which these things have happened, but they could then sue whomever violated those rights into oblivion.

This also states that you can practice any religion you'd like. That means ANY religion. Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Satanism, even something you've made up in your head. As long as you aren't doing things like sacrificing the neighbors cat, which violates laws against animal cruelty, you can do pretty much anything you'd like. Want to talk to your fish and worship them for the Gods of the sea that they are? Go for it. No one cares. Certain extremist types might get all preachy on you, but fuck em, it's not their business what your religion is.

Freedom of the Press means that anyone may print anything they'd like as long as it's true. There were many times where something undesirable would be printed about the King of England and he could tell the press not to print it and they had no choice but to not print it or have bad things happen to them. President Bush can ask that something not be printed for various reasons, but the press has no responsibility to the President or anyone else not to print it.

Freedom to peaceably assemble. This is the key word; peaceably. If you get together with 10,000 of your fellow countrymen and start rioting, you will be thrown in jail. If you want to march down the sidewalks and protest something, it is your right to do so. Dissent is important in any society as it brings a different point of view to the table of a particular issue. Just as Jules and Vincent in Pulp Fiction debate on the subtlety of a foot massage and it's inherit meaning, it's important to see things from the opposite side of the fence.


A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

I've covered this enough in my previous posts, so I won't go into too great of detail, but the bottom line is that you have the right to own a firearm. No limits are ever pointed to in the Second Amendment, so in theory, laws governing machine guns, silencers, and other such things are technically illegal because "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Who's to say that I can own a AR-15, but not a Browning .30 caliber machine gun? Both are firearms and both allow me to defend myself and my family from outside threats. One just allows me to defend my home against things like helicopters and APC's much better.


Now we get into the lesser known Rights.


Amendment III

No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.


There was a time when a soldier could just barge into your home or you could be told to take in a soldier in wartime or peacetime and there wasn't a thing you could do about it. The founding fathers made sure that this wouldn't happen again. However, if you took in a soldier during peacetime or wartime, you can, but it then becomes your responsibility.


The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

This is the hot button issue right now with warrantless wiretapping going on at the particular moment in time. It states that you have the right to privacy unless a warrant has been issued to search your house and belongings. There has to be "Probable Cause" otherwise, the warrant is invalid. That means that an officer of the law has to suspect you of a crime and provide a reason for that suspicion. Otherwise, the warrant issued would be invalid and anything found during that search would be thrown out. You could have tons of Cocaine and thousands of machine guns in your home, but if the warrant is invalid, they can't use it against you.



No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

This is the Amendment that people refer to when you hear them say "I plead the fifth". It means you have the right against self incriminations. So if you are arrested, shut up. It also protects someone from being tried twice for the same crime, even if evidence is found later proving the person is guilty. This is why OJ can never be tried again for the murders he was acquitted of. It also states that you cannot be have your stuff taken from you without due process of the law and you must be compensated if your stuff is taken for public use. The Zapruder film showing John F. Kennedy's assassination was put into the public archives and the Zapruder family was compensated for it because of this law. The Federal government thought that this film was so important, that it needed to be a part of the public domain.


In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

This is the "You have the right to an attorney" when you are read your Miranda rights. This also is the right that you are allowed to not have to sit in jail for a long time while awaiting trial. You have the right to confront your accusers and have the right to a public jury trial. This is to help prevent someone from getting thrown in jail and the keys thrown away by a corrupt system.

In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

You have the right to a trial by jury. Pretty self explanatory.



Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.


This one is extremely important as it allows you to not be punished for a crime in a "cruel and unusual" way. This allows everyone to have punishment met out while still allowing them some dignity. This also means that you won't be seeing $1 million dollar bail for jaywalking.

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

You have more rights then listed here in the Constitution.



The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

States and the people can make up additional laws that are not covered in the Constitution.



There you have it. A quick and dirty view of what makes America, America. Sometimes we get caught up in the moment when it comes to the security and prosperity of our nation, but we should never forget that it's these 10 simple laws that form the foundation of what makes up the core of who we are.

Iran Testing Nuclear Triggers?

If this is true, there is no way that China and Russia could be against sanctions against Iran. The only problem is that we need concrete proof of these tests. Evidence from Israel, even if it were concrete, would be looked upon with mistrust because Israel and Iran are enemies. If say, China, Russia, or Saudi Arabia had the same evidence, then you would have a real case for sanctions. Let's see if this report turns out to be true. I want there to be a resolution to this, but I don't think that it will be one that will end peacefully. I think it will end up with either Tel Aviv under a mushroom cloud or an Iranian nuclear facility on the end of an Israeli air strike.

I just had to laugh at this idiots idea. So, let me get this straight. If I have an orgasm on December 22nd and think about peace, then it will make all the bad things in the world go away and wars will end?? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Sure, I'm all for a good orgasm, but problems don't solve themselves by a blow job or sex on the kitchen counter top. Hell, if it did, I'd be the next Gandhi.

Problems don't get solved by having sex, unless the problem is you're trying to get pregnant. Problems get solved by thinking things through and coming up with a solution.

Race and Freedom of Speech

If you go into a racist tirade while on stage, people will notice. TV's "Kramer" decided he wanted to yell at some people in the audience who were heckling him. Ok fair enough, but he went into a racist laden screaming match with them and pissed off a bunch of people. Now, I'll be the first to condemn him for it, however, in this video comedian Paul Rodriquez makes two incorrect statements.

First, he says "If the word nigger comes out of your mouth and you aren't African-American, you have some explaining to do" My response is why? Why does Chris Rock get to use the word but I do not? I don't use the word in my vocabulary, however how is it fair that certain people can use it but I cannot? Would it be fair if African-Americans couldn't use the word "Cracker"? Or "Honky"? Or "White Devil"? Of course not, that would be taking away from their freedom of speech. Now, I have every right to be offended if someone uses those words with malice, but I'm not about to take away their right to say what they want. But there in lies the difference; malice. Malice is what makes you a racist for saying "nigger", not merely the word. I've been called "nigga" by African-American friends of mine, and there's clearly no malice involved. "Nigga" and "nigger" are the same words, I do not care if you spell them differently.

Secondly Paul Rodriquez also states "Freedom of speech has its limitations and I think that Michael Richards crossed that line". Paul is half correct in this one instance. Freedom of speech does have its limitations. However, the limitations are only when you infringe on other peoples rights. Threats are one of those limitations. You cannot threaten someone and claim freedom of speech because you are trying to intimidate or coerce someone else. Some of the things that Michael Richards did say could be construed as threatening speech, however simply calling someone a name is not, unfortunately for Michael Richards, it appears that he didn't merely say "You're a nigger". He said "I have enough money to have you arrested". That can easily be interpreted as a threat.

Race relations are always a hot button for many people. Many people might be offended by my merely asking "Why" when I just really want to know the answer to "Why". People who know me personally know I don't have a thread of racism in my heart and I show it by the friends and family members in my life, just in case you were wondering.

Ted Koppel

I'm watching bits and pieces of Ted Koppel's new documentary titled "Iran - The Most Dangerous Nation" and while it is very insightful, there was one part that I thought I would share with you. Ted Koppel is speaking to a woman who was the spokesperson for the group of people who took our men hostage at the US Embassy in 1979. She goes on to say how America said bad things about her nation and lumped them into a group called "The Axis Of Evil" and made it look how hurtful it was to her. While she looks to have a point for about 2 seconds, Ted Koppel pipes up with "Well, don't you think it's along the same degree when you called us "The Great Satan"". She didn't have a response and was clearly frustrated when called out on the carpet like that. Kudos Ted! It's about time that someone shoved their noses in it when they pull shit like that. I'm tired of everyone ganging up on us and expecting us to take shit off of these people for years then get all upset when we return the favor.

Train Wreck TV

This OJ thing coming up on TV has admittedly caught my eye. I know deep down in my heart that OJ killed his ex wife Nicole and her friend/boyfriend Ronald Goldman. I don't know if Nicole was dating Ron, but come on, when was the last time you went to a restaurant, ANY restaurant and the waiter hand delivered glasses you left behind there? OJ was a jealous wife beater and I'm willing to bet that he saw her with him, she rebuffed him earlier in the day and he decided she had to go. There's simply too many people involved for me to believe that the ENTIRE forensics department of the LAPD, the LAPD themselves, and everyone else got together and said "Let's frame OJ". For a conspiracy theory that large to come off without a hitch, there had to be some major stuff going on behind the scenes. It just doesn't happen. Just like 9/11 conspiracy theories are bullshit too. Sooner or later you have someone involved who's conscience gets the better of them and they spill the beans.

"Three can keep a secret if two are dead." Words to live by.

I'm just curious if OJ reveals anything in this interview that only the killer would know. I'm curious if he does this "If I did it" bullshit and reveals that Nicole had a glass of wine in her hand or some other minor detail that will let everyone know that OJ killed her and Ronald Goldman.

Senator John Kerry Considers '08 Run

Consider all you want John, there are WAY better candidates then you. If I were a Democrat, I'd probably pick Barak Obama. Admittedly the guy has charm, is an excellent public speaker, and isn't so militant as to put off people who are on the fence in voting. You have to remember that there are Democrats who don't like John Kerry. They only went along with him because he was the best that the Democrats had to offer at that point in time.

Hillary Clinton is another popular choice among Democrats, but with Barak and Hillary, there's more then just qualifications that need to be looked at. Unfortunately, there are people who are not ready for a black man or a woman to be President. You can send me hate mail all you want, but do you really think that out of 300 million people, there isn't one that doesn't think; "There's no way in hell I'd vote for a woman"? I don't mind personally what color or gender the candidate is, as long as they share the same personal beliefs that I do when it comes to running the country. Regardless of how people feel about gender or race, it's important to look at voting records. To me, that's what matters most about a candidate. You could be a Republican, but vote for Gun Control that would want me to vote you out quicker then anything.

Unfortunately for Democrats, their core beliefs are strictly against my own and that is why I continually vote against them.

Iranian Nuclear Crisis Being Spearheaded By...The French???

Take a gander at this article. Even the French understand that allowing Iran to have access to nuclear technology that can be used for weapons is a bad idea. I must congratulate the French for standing up when it counts. I think it could be based on the recent problems that France has had with militant Muslims. They don't want someone armed with a nuclear weapon in their country who's pissed at them. I can't say I blame them. France is usually the first one to take a jab at us at any point that they can get, so it's refreshing to see them stand up for what's right instead of what pokes America in the eye.

Blair: Force Alone Won't Beat Terrorism

Well I can agree with that on many fronts. Force alone doesn't solve many of the problems that we face. However, when someone has made a threat against us and has proven that they will carry out that threat, force is the only thing that will solve that. If a nation wants to extend its hand in friendship that has not been friendly to us in the past, I'm all for cautiously extending ours in return. If a group of militants wants to blow up parts of America and kill as many people as possible, then we need to kill them as painfully as possible.

A quick shot to the head will do the trick, but there are always alternatives to flushing out an enemy. Using behind the scenes tactics involving every aspect of the enemies lives will make them make a mistake and allow us to find them and eliminate them. Understanding and mutual respect is for those who deserve it. People who plow airliners into buildings, blow up tunnels, plot gas attacks and more do not deserve understanding or mutual respect. They deserve to be shipped to an undisclosed place, squeezed of any last bit of information they may have, then shipped home in a body bag.

The Draft Is Coming, But It's Coming From Democrats!

Well maybe John Kerry was right in proclaiming that the draft might be coming back. But just as usual, John Kerry was wrong in one aspect; it's coming from his own party. Representative Charles Rangel D-NY wants to bring back the draft for individuals ages 18-26. Which is odd because didn't George W. Bush (Hitler in the eyes of many Democrats) state that he was vehemently opposed to a draft? So tell me Democrats and everyone that voted for them, if this gets passed and you are drafted, where will do your "pie in the sky" thoughts and ideals about the Democratic party be then?

Representative Rangel wanted to bring back the draft in 2003 as well. Of course, when both the House and the Senate were controlled by the Republican's, it was soundly defeated because Republican's don't believe in the draft. But, now that both parts of Congress are controlled by the Democrats, do you feel that it will be so soundly defeated this time around?

I am personally against a draft of any kind. I don't think taking people who aren't cut out for military life against their will and putting them in the middle of a combat zone will accomplish much. In fact, it could be worse in that they could make decisions on the battlefield that can get them or their fellow soldiers killed.

It's quite possible that this guy will be looked upon as an idiot and his determination to get a draft reinstated will be soundly defeated, but I think it's rather odd that John Kerry, right before the 2004 presidential elections said in a nutshell "If you vote Bush, he'll reinstate the draft and you'll be in Iraq in no time" and then when it didn't happen, no one stood up and called John Kerry a the liar that he is. Then, all of a sudden, you have this whackjob trying to put in a draft so that congressmen and women would think twice if they "thought that their kids from their communities would be placed in harm's way".

Looks like this little nugget of news is going around the Internet pretty quickly. Basically a college student is asked to leave, then when he won't, he goes limp and acts like a giant douche bag. So the cops taser him. Now, we have a guy who was there's point of view. What's funny, is according to this article, the guy was "encouraging others to join in his resistance". Well that's inciting a riot, and if I were in the cops' shoes, I'd taser him for just that. I don't need 50 other people jumping into an already volatile situation. Let this be a warning kids, if the cops ask you to leave, you leave. If you act like a resisting asshole, you'll get tasered and the only people who will feel sorry for you is a bunch of liberal idiots. The real world will just laugh at your taser marks.

Mike Tyson To Be Prostitute

Sometimes headlines just write themselves. Mike Tyson, CONVICTED RAPIST, is set to be a prostitute in Heidi Fleiss' new men's brothel. Now, Mike loves the ladies I think we can all agree. But what do you want to bet that there'll be a woman who comes in and asks for Mike because she has a rape fantasy? Or better yet, what do you want to bet that a gay man will come in and ask for Mike? I play an online game and I have a gay friend on there and I'd gladly pitch in money if he wanted to get a hold of good old Mike. I don't think he'd go for it though. He's mainly into the Ralph Fiennes and Noah Wyle types. My wife says that both of those guys are cute, so I guess he's got good taste? But what do I know? I like women. US Concerned About China

I'm a bit concerned myself. China is fastly becoming a superpower in it's own right. I don't mind if another country does so legitimately, but they seem to be trying to steal secrets from us as fast as they can. They don't seem to mind when one of their spies are caught doing it. On the other hand, we seem to be overly concerned about collecting intelligence on them for fear of "offending" them. I'm hoping that this is merely a perception and not a fact. Condoleeza seems to be deferring questions about military buildup of the Chinese.

China has not been secretive about it's plans to get Taiwan back into it's clutches and I think the Chinese are just merely building slowly but surely, and trying to get as much information about our weapons and tactics before deciding on making a move against Taiwan. Hopefully I'm wrong in this, but the evidence is there. Don't believe me? Just google "Titan Rain".

Pahrump, Nevada

I think Pahrump is on the wrong track here. "The town council of Pahrump, which lies in the Mojave Desert west of Las Vegas, voted 3-2 on Tuesday to make flying any foreign flag above the U.S. flag or alone an offense punishable by a $50 fine and 30 hours' community service." I think that if someone wants to fly a foreign flag, that's their business. If it's on personal property, the council just passed a blatantly unconstitutional law. This country is made up of immigrants, and if they want to fly the flag of their home country, that's one of the basic freedoms that the Constitution grants to all citizens.

However, if it's on Government property, then there shouldn't be a reason to fly a flag other then the American one unless they are, for example, having a multicultural center, or museum or something like that. Sometimes when people get stupid ideas in their heads and start to infringe on the rights of others based upon national pride. I'm just as a chest beating, America loving guy as the next, but you cannot infringe on the rights of others to express their freedom of speech, even if it offends you.

WAHH! I Don't Get My Cell Phone For 5 Days!

God how I hate whiners. When a school girl has her cell phone confiscated in class because it was ringing and told she can get it 5 days later, the police have to get involved? The rule was in the student handbook, so therefore she had to have known not to bring a cell phone into the classroom. If you do, there are consequences. This is the problem with "Helicopter Parents". They get so involved in their children's lives that they don't allow the children to deal with consequences of their actions by themselves so they can grow up to be responsible adults. Instead, children now have the mindset of "I'll just call my mom and dad and they'll show you a thing or two".

Just once, I'd love to see a video of a parent dealing with a school official in this situation and see the school official declare "I can plainly see that your parenting skills are the root cause of your child being a spoiled brat. Perhaps if you were a better parent, we wouldn't be having this conversation." I'd have to buy that school official a beer. :) Kids no a days don't seem to understand just how good they have it. When I was growing up, if you were at the principals office, your parents first asked "what did you do". Not "what did the school official do". Plus, teachers had the right to spank your little ass with a wooden paddle if you got out of line, even in front of the class, pants down.

I know deep down in my heart unless something dramatic happens, Social Security will be broke by the time I get to retirement age. Basically, I'm just sponsoring a retiree. This Is Why Police Officer's Jobs Are Difficult

If I was the cop, I might have shot him. If you point a realistic gun at people, you have to expect the cops to show up and you are very lucky that they don't shoot your sorry ass. Plus, a cop might have thought "If I kill Bin Laden, I'll get the $50 million reward money!". Ok, that last part was bullshit, but still funny. General John Abizaid

Oh how I love this man. He's not coming out and saying it, but his words convey the message "If you cut the amount of soldier in Iraq, you're cutting the legs out from underneath us and it will end in disaster" This sets the Democrats plan of "progressive redeployment" into a tail spin. This testimony that General Abizaid offered will be pointed at if the Democrats get their way and reduce troop numbers and things go from bad to worse.

Soldier Admits Rape And Murder

I don't think anyone questions that I support our troops. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if a decision is made in the heat of battle and it ultimately turns out to be the wrong decision. A split second is all you have that may determine whether you live or die. In the same situations, I would probably make the same decisions that these honorable men make. However, the rape and murder of a 14 year old girl and her family isn't one of those mistakes that I'm willing to overlook.

These men, if the charges are proven true, will have brought dishonor to his fellow soldier. It is actions like these that make other soldier's lives much more difficult and feeds the propaganda machine for the insurgents. Of course, I know that these actions, if true, are an extremely small fraction of the amount of honorable soldiers serving. I am hoping that the charges are not true, but things don't look very good right now. I'm not willing to "throw them under a bus" quite yet, but from what I have read, there is strong evidence that a horrible crime has been committed here.

I'm glad this guy isn't head of the military

Jesus Herbert Christ this guy is such a defeatist pussy. Rather than just say "we've got to fight harder, faster and smarter then the bad guys and maybe our technique needs to be tweaked", he's willing to just throw in the towel and run home to mommy. Sometimes a good old fashioned ass whipping is what people need, and the insurgents need to be not only defeated, but humiliated in a very public way. Take the fight out of them so they no longer want to blow themselves up for Allah. Build hospitals, roads, schools. Give everyone who comes in a job and the ability to support their family. Have air conditioning in every building you know of. I know when I get hot, I get a bit cranky, so if you couple that with no food, water, or a way to support your family, blowing yourself up doesn't seem like that bad of an idea.

But of course, Michael Hirsh, author of the above linked article didn't think of that. He just wanted the comfort of thinking he went the moral high road and can sleep a little better at night under the umbrella of freedom that is provided by the very men and women he'd like to yank out of the battlefield before the mission is complete. Real men don't turn tail and run. Real men don't let people in need suffer and die. And real men don't knife people in the back when others are trying to do an honorable thing.

If This Is True...

If this is true, I say we start the nuclear strikes immediately and make the nuclear sites in Iran flattened bits of green glass. Russia and China aren't going to step up to the plate like they should, so it's either us or Israel that does it. We're already hated enough in the world and sure enough, the Democrats will want to ignore the problem and put fingers in their ears.

There is absolutely no excuse for dealings with Al Qaeda. None. Flatten their oil rigs and have a scorched earth policy so they know what a REALLY bad idea it is in having deals with Al Qaeda.

Waterboarding - See It Yourself

I ran into this little nugget on the internet. While I think the interrogators went a little light on him, I do believe that this accurately represents what Waterboarding is all about. Khalid Shaikh Mohammed went through this particular interrogation technique and is rumored to have lasted 2 minutes and then gave up the names and locations to many terrorists around the world still planning attacks against us.

While I disagree with Alan Dershowtiz's stance on torture and think that any method that can extract valuable, accurate intelligence that can save American lives is worth it, I do agree with his idea for a compromise. His idea is a "torture warrant". Basically if the President or any high ranking official signs a warrant saying that "X" techniques may be used to extract information from a suspect. Personally, I'd rather torture a man to death then know that my pussy footing around made any information the suspect had useless because it was too late and innocent men, women and children died because of it. But that's just me being a big old softie when it comes to my fellow Americans. And yes, that includes EVERY American, black, white, Jew, Arab, Christian or Muslim.

So the Democrats are calling for troop reductions and they are calling it "phased redeployment"? Phased redeployment gives the impression that you are moving from one objective to another, not going home. I'm just glad Bush has come out and said that troop levels will be based on the situation in Iraq, not the situation at home.

If You Rob A Man With An NRA Hat - You Deserve This

Ok, so you're a criminal. Fair enough, we all have to make a living. Your profession just makes you scum, that's all. So if you go to rob someone, first off, bring out a real gun, not some piss ant .25. My wife has a bigger gun then that. Secondly, when you are planning on robbing a guy, make sure his nickname isn't "lumpy" and that he's not wearing an NRA hat. That means he's probably armed. I don't wear an NRA hat, but I am armed. I don't like to advertise. It's much more fun to see a criminal shit their pants when you pull a gun of your own.

This particular criminal got off light. "Lumpy" decided to have a standoff for a short while. If I pull my gun on you, I'm pulling the trigger until the gun goes from "boom" to "click".

Veteran's Day

I purposely made this post the last in my list of posts because I wanted it to be at the top of the list. I did not get a chance to say a proper thank you to all veterans, past, present, and future, so I will do so now.

Thank you. I don't mean a simple thank you that you would say to someone who brought you an extra thing of ranch and the local Red Robin, I'm talking about a heartfelt, "I cannot thank you enough" type of thank you.

Soldiers come from all walks of life, but have one simple goal, serving their country. They do things that you and I can only imagine. They face threats that lesser people would coward from. I've said "thank you" to perfect strangers in uniform. At first, they generally wonder what they did, then they get a little smirk on their face and give me a nod in return. I've stopped when soldiers have been stuck on the side of the road with a broken down car. I have a rule about stopping for stranded motorists. If you are a woman, I'll stop for you. If you are a senior citizen, I will stop for you. If you are a father with more then one child, I will stop for you. If you are a man and not in uniform for me to identify you as a soldier, you are on your own. You are a man, you should be able to stand up, dust yourself off, and walk to the nearest pay phone.

The only exception to my rules is if I am driving out in the middle of nowhere and you are stuck. You will receive my help, even if you only need to use my cell phone.

I'd like to take this post to thank the two veterans in my life. First up, Tim.

My friend Tim was in the Navy a long time ago. He'll go into stories about this or that, and chat with me about his computer problems, which I gladly fix. He'll tell me he's thinking about re-enlisting because the benefits are better for his new wife and 4 daughters (sheesh, 4 girls and a wife. He's the only guy.....) Anyways, when I chat with him about such things, the underlying tone of his conversation is "I want to do what's best for my girls". It's never about "I'd like to go kill someone" or "I'd like to go play with missiles again." He's constantly thinking about ways to make life better for himself and his family. His way of thinking is what makes him a good Sailor.

Next up: Grandpa.

Grandpa "lunatic" is more near and dear to my heart for many reasons. Duty, honor, loyalty, family, are all words that he takes seriously and has done so for the past 70+ years. Grandpa was also in the Navy, but in the 1940's. When my father and I went to go live with him when I was very young, he made sure to save his Hostess cupcakes for me from his lunches when he got home because he knew I liked them. He'd take me fishing and let me reel in the fish from his fishing pole because I wouldn't fish properly. I'd play "worm water skiing" with my fishing pole. He'd get a bite and then he'd hand me the reel and say "you got one Travis, reel him in" and then give credit to me to everyone back home. I think I was around 3-5 years old at the time.

When we'd go hunting around age 5-7, he'd let me hold his rifle. We'd never get a deer because I made too much noise. I'd talk normally and you could hear the echo in the mountains very clearly. Deer were much smarter then I was back then. :) On our drive home, I'd mention we didn't get any deer, and he'd always say "Well it must be because you're such a great hunter. They were too scared to come out of their hiding places."

Grandpa would always lead by example. When my father became a flake and abandoned me at a young age, Grandpa made sure that I had a father figure in him. He'd never give you advice that he didn't already use or believe in. Some of his kids (my aunts and uncles on my fathers side) didn't turn out to be responsible, outstanding members of the community. My aunt, his only daughter, is constantly whining about how life is unfair and how difficult it is to get a job. She's moved back in with him more times then I can remember. She's 10 years older then me and I don't understand why she can't seem to get what life, responsibility and being an adult is all about. I've seen her borrow $50 from Grandpa when he knows she's not going to pay him back. His honor and commitment to family overshadows his reservations about giving her money he needs himself. I've had many conversations with her and have scolded her about Grandpa's finances. I told her he should be taking cruises to exotic locations and having his way with Grandma whenever he likes. He should be taking Grandchildren fishing or working out in his shop making something fun for himself. But it's Grandpa. You can tell him your concerns all you want, but he'll just tell you "She's family." and you know he's right.

So after all the times Grandpa's taken me under his wing and led by example on how to be a man, I finally found a way to give a small token of appreciation to Grandpa. Warning: I'm gonna gloat here a bit.

Growing up, Grandpa and I would watch boxing together. We'd bet a quarter on who would win and he would almost always win, but he'd never make me pay for it (I'd usually do chores or something to pay off the quarter). Anyways, Grandpa's never had a TV bigger then 20". I don't know how he can stand it personally. I know Grandpa's never had a TV bigger then that because he's always making sure that his kids are taken care of, even if his kids are Grandparents themselves and still haven't figured out if you mouth off to your boss, you'll find yourself out of a job. So, I had a house built a little while ago, and was living with a friend of mine up at his place while it was under construction. I was planning a theater room with a new projector and the whole nine yards. Well once construction was complete, I had my old 65" HDTV that I had no room for. So, I had the idea to give it to Grandpa. With some help from some very large men, I brought Grandpa his new TV.

The first thing we did after hooking everything up was turn on a boxing match. It took me back 30 years to when I was sitting on Grandpas lap screaming at the guy in the green trunks to get up off the floor. You could see the pride in his eyes because everyone generally uses Grandpa as a bank and someone was recognizing all the hard work that he put in to making sure that kids were fed and toes had shoes and heads had roofs over them.

Grandpa, Thank you very much for your service to your country. Thank you for showing me by example what it is to be a man. Grandpa lives and breathes what it means to be a soldier.

Iranian Spy Drone?

Iran is showing footage claiming to be from an unmanned spy drone of a USS aircraft carrier. So this is the military might of Iran? Pretty pathetic if you ask me. We have satellite images that can show car license plates and headlines off of newspapers from hundreds of miles up in space. We have missiles that can be fired from thousands of miles away and be put through any window of any building we choose. So go ahead and show your "military might" Iran if you must, we all know it's just a big dick contest to you and you won't win that one either. :)

China - Friend Or Foe

China has lately been poking it's nose around our military a lot lately. I'm very concerned that they may be preparing for a showdown with us over Taiwan. Just google "Titan Rain" and you'll see all the shenanigans that they have been doing over the past few years. War games where we show them our stuff but they won't show theirs, actively stalking our aircraft carriers, spy rings being broken up, none of those things points towards an open and friendly relationship with a massive trade partner.

I think what bothers me most is our lack of response. We're afraid to call them out on the things that we're doing and we're not spying back on them hard enough. Read the article, it clearly states that Admiral William J. Fallon has restricted intelligence gathering against China for fear of being found out and the consequences of damaging relations with China. We should be actively spying against China to find out what they are trying to find out about us. If they find out about it, they should be told "well you do it to us, we only thought it was fair". Let them taste what it's like to be spied on and have their military secrets exposed.

Although I am wondering why we aren't doing something more aggressive about it, maybe there's no reason to? Is China's military that unsophisticated? They are trying to steal secrets from us so they don't have to research and develop their own. Perhaps they are so far behind that they feel the need to do this? My gut feeling on it is that they need to be told "if we do military exercise with you in the future, you will show use your command and control center like we've shown you. Otherwise, you won't get another exercise with us."

Democrats Are Cowards

Man, I really hate being right on this one. But the Democrats are already asking for troop withdrawals withing 4-6 months. When Generals are asking for more troops, these idiots want to reduce. It will give the insurgents a thought of "if I can wait it out, I can claim victory". Which they will. It's one thing to ask for a different point of view, it's another to cut the legs out from underneath the troops. Democrats will ask for, and probably get, troop reductions to appease their constituents. Then they will see a rise in attacks against our troops and point to Bush and say "See, I told you he couldn't be trusted running this war". Cowards, Idiots, Assholes, whatever you want to call them, bookmark my words and see what happens if they get their way.

Rumsfeld Out Sooner = GOP Win?

This is an interesting theory, but I don't give it much credit. I think that in some races that were very tight, it might have made a difference, but there are too many races that weren't close. Had Rumsfeld been out sooner, say around the time he was under fire at the beginning of the war, it might have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, we'll never know.

Kennedy Murderer Has Sentence Upheld

I'm glad this piece of shit has to serve out his 20 years to live sentence. Serves him right. He's not arguing that he didn't do it, he's arguing about the statute of limitations. The problem is that a law was passed one year after the murder that removed a 5 year statute of limitations on crimes that didn't involve the death penalty. Had the statute of limitations run out by the time the law was passed, I would unfortunately have to agree that Michael Skakel would have to be set free. But there was 4 years left on the statute when the law was passed that removed the limitations. It's arguable either way, but to be beaten to death by a golf club is a brutal way to die. It's also very troubling to know that the Kennedy family covered it up. Which by the way, is a Democratic family. Draw your own conclusions.

If you're going to counterfeit money, make sure you do it right. Xerox isn't going to work. Many people don't know that money isn't really paper. It's a cotton blended fabric. They also don't know that money has a distinct smell. Take out a $20 bill from your wallet and take a good hard look at it. There are security features all over the thing. It's done to protect the economy from idiots like this one.

In his little rant, he goes on about how Bush is genocidal, but then claims 9/11 was "self inflicted" If our government did in fact, murder 3,000 of it's own people, why doesn't Chavez fear for his life? Jihad Not Over

Well no shit. Al Qaeda in Iraq claims that Jihad isn't over. This is the kind of threat that we face every day. He isn't simply threatening our soldiers, he's threatening attacks on mainland USA. What's funny is that he makes the statement "Come down to the battlefield, you coward", yet, when most insurgents, himself included, go to fight, they wear head scarves that cover their faces. You won't even show your face. Our soldiers not only show their faces, they wear uniforms so they don't blend in with civilians and hide behind women and children.
