Why Democrats Will Never "Get It"

Every time I listen to a reasonable Democrat, I begin to think "Wow, finally, I can find some common ground with Democrats on a variety of issues and maybe they aren't deserving of the reputation that they have gotten.

But then idiots like this pipe up and ruin it all over again.

Democrats, the presidential race of 2008 is ours to lose. We are doing a great job of losing the ball game with arrogance, bickering, and sanctimonious sermons. Rome is burning and all you guys can do is argue among one another. Governor Richardson can not be the diplomat that keeps the banter civil, so you are all letting it rip! What is wrong with you?

Ok, she sounds like a voice of reason so far.

The economy is quickly going down the toilet.

Good point.

Unemployment is rising.

Another good point.

The markets are tipping downward as our debt rises.

Doing ok so far.

We are still in Iraq and our current administration continues to play the heart strings of terrorism.

I disagree, but I'll keep listening.

There is no federal policy to fight global warming, and we are still relying upon fossil fuel.

Doing ok again.

The lack of universal health care is a rapidly becoming an issue of national security.

Ok now you've lost me.  Ms. Kraus brings up several valid points about fiscal responsibility, then turns around in less than a paragraph and wants to bring up universal health care, to which by one of her own prominent members of her party, admits will cost $60 billion a year TO START.

You simply cannot bring up the subject of fiscal responsibility and chide your political opponents for their lack of it, then turn around and suggest a socialist program with no budgetary limit on it.  It's hypocritical to say the least.  How about you suggest controlling spending first, then once the debt that we ALREADY HAVE is paid down, THEN you suggest your programs.  Until then, you just look like you're trying to replace Republican spending with Democratic spending.
