The private memo, leaked to The Washington Post, painted what researchers described as a "sobering picture" for Democrats who believe that President George W Bush's disastrous favourability numbers almost guarantee they will capture the White House next year.
If they think they're guaranteed a win with Hillary, Democrats are severely detached from reality. There are many people who have openly said "If Hillary is running, I'm voting for anyone but her".
They all have their own reasons, but one of the main ones is that she's a two faced, ruthless bitch of a woman who'll say or do whatever it takes to win. She has wild ideas that will cost this country severely financially. She supported the Iraq war, something her constituents could never forgive. She is married to Bill, and we all know how his policies have failed in spectacular ways. And she's unapproachable and unfriendly.
But wait, it gets worse:
All party preference polls show that Democrats are much more popular than Republicans. But when the names of individual candidates are used, the gap narrows considerably.
The leaked poll found that Mr Giuliani, a centrist Republican with liberal stances on issues such as abortion and gay rights, leads Mrs Clinton by 49 per cent to 39 per cent in the swing districts.
In other words, if you say "who would you vote for", people will say "Democrat" or "Republican". However, if you put "Who would you vote for, Hillary or Rudy", then it gets worse for Democrats.
Frank Luntz, a leading Republican pollster, said: "This poll reveals what grassroots Democrats have been concerned about. Hillary is their choice ideologically but not necessarily politically and they're afraid she could lose.
"Democrats want to win more than anything else and they will compromise on policy to achieve electability." Mrs Clinton, he said, prompted a series of perceptions that could damage her.
Haven't I been saying that all along? They will say or do whatever it takes to win, not to put someone into office that most commonly shares their core beliefs.
There's the core difference between Democrats and Republicans. Which is why I don't think Rudy is going to get the nomination. I may be wrong, but his stance on gun control and abortion and gay rights isn't going to go over well with some right wing fundamentalists.
