Report: Saudi Gitmo Detainees Get Gift

The Saudi Arabian government will temporarily release 55 prisoners recently transferred from the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and will give each of them about $2,600 to celebrate the upcoming Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, a newspaper reported Saturday.

What. The. Fuck.??? They are releasing 55 criminals AND giving them money to "celebrate the upcoming Muslim holiday"? What kind of backwards thinking is this? These guys went to Guantanamo, so it's not like they were small time guys. And, they are supposed to report back for trial. Anyone want to place any bets on how many actually return?

The Saudis aren't taking terrorism as seriously as they should, and if this is the kind of thing we can expect from the Saudis in terms of support, perhaps we should just send their citizens home in a box. I'll even take a diamonds to doughnuts bet on if they haven't cracked down on Islamic schools that preach hatred towards Americans like they said they would.

Would the Saudis appreciate it if we let loose an American criminal that they caught and gave them money? Of course not, but it seems that they want to be able to do whatever they want and get away with it. Perhaps a little bit of tit for tat is in order.
