Ok, not really "copied", but they wrote about our open society and how there's little that can be done to stop mass killings like the Virginia Tech ones. Sounds vaguely familiar to an article I wrote just after the shootings. If someone wants to go on a rampage, there's little that can be done unless a bystander happens to be armed.
Now the spotlight is on Presidential candidates and their views on gun control. So far, to me, the most disturbing one is Barack Obama. His views is he wants to ban all semi-automatic guns. That's pretty much every gun on the market. That means that if you want to fire another shot, you have to recock the gun. That can take away precious seconds from someone defending themselves or the lives of others. Obama needs to get his head back to the real world where there are literally hundreds of thousands of examples of people lawfully using their weapons in the defense of American citizens.
