USATODAY.com - FBI: al-Qaeda detainee spoke of fire plot

You know, Al-Qaeda must be REALLY grasping at straws if they think a plot to set a massive fire in California would cause much destruction.  Sure, the current fire going on down there is causing a lot of grief for a lot of people, but it's all property damage and a significantly low number of deaths (two as of this writing).

California has fires like this ALL THE TIME.  Oregon and Washington are simply too wet to have the massive damage that California is experiencing.  Plus, Oregon and Washington have some of the most rugged terrain in the nation, filled with rivers and clearings that don't allow fires to spread like they would in California.

Nice try, you've just managed to make yourselves look like idiots.  Next up, they'll be trying to cause tornados in Kansas.
