Robert Goulet needs a lung transplant - CNN.com

I have nothing personal against Robert Goulet, however, I did want to touch on celebrities and their needs for donated organs.  For example, David Crosby, a chronic drug and alcohol user, needed a new liver.  A donated liver waiting list was years long, yet, somehow, he managed to get one, while other people, who didn't abuse their livers, died.

Now, Robert Goulet needs a new set of lungs.  I'm not trying to sound cruel here, but the guy is 73 years old and has lived a full life.  If he gets a new set of lungs, how much longer do you suppose he'll live?  What about a person in their twenties or thirties?  They would live a lot longer and have a better chance of not having complications simply because the young have better immune systems.

Robert has entertained a lot of people, and probably has the money to pay for such an operation.  However, if there is a waiting list, I think he should gracefully step aside and let someone else with bigger needs them him get those lungs.
