Democrats And Taxes

Democrats have rightfully earned the reputation for raising taxes on hard working people, and Charles Rangel is no different. His tax plan calls for one of the largest tax increases in history.

4.5% addition tax increases on corporations and people making more than $150k a year, or $200k a year for married couples. It will also repeal tax cuts that were made a few short years go.

It will take the current top tax rate of 35% and raise it to 44%.

When are Democrats going to stop trying to make successful people pay for everything? The top 50% of wage earners pay more than 96% of all tax revenue. Yet, the bottom 50% pay only 4% of the revenue, but end up costing the government more money then they earn.

Why can't Democrats support an across the board, flat tax? Why is say a 20% tax rate on anyone, regardless of income, such a bad thing? Because Democrats believe that the wealthy and the successful are their own piggy bank. Then you wonder why so many of them are caught doing shady things to avoid having to pay as much taxes.

If I was paying $100k a year in tax, and the government wanted an addition 4% on top of that, why should I? Why not make everyone pay equally? Why does someone who didn't pay attention in college or someone who took the lazy way out get to suck on the governments proverbial tit, while hard working Americans pay for them?

You want healthcare? Get a job to pay for it. You want roads, schools, and police officers? They all cost money. It's simply not fair to expect one group of people to pay significantly more for benefits that many of them simply don't see. Rightfully, it should be an "all or nothing" kind of deal.
