Do you think racism exists in America? Do you think that racism coming from those who claim they are victims of such a thing should be racist themselves?
Well BET took two of the "Jena Six" defendants and allowed them to get up on stage and help present at the Hip Hop Awards.
"By no means are we condoning a six-on-one beat-down," Williams said during his introduction of the teens, one of whom is still facing attempted murder charges in connection with the attack on white student Justin Barker. "... But the injustice perpetrated on these young men is straight criminal."
So you think that since they were charged for beating on a white kid in a 6 to 1 fight they deserve to be put up on stage and then act like they are the victims?
The kid they attacked was put into the hospital and HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE EARLIER INCIDENTS OF RACISM.
That in of itself is racist and BET has a lot of nerve to claim these thugs as being victims.
Next time you claim racism, don't expect people to listen or feel sorry for you.

Unbelievable. If the roles had been reversed here, and six whites had laid a massive beat down on a black kid, do you think Jesse and Al and everybody would be so quick to decry an attempted murder charge? Hell, no. They would be looking to add a special circumstances/hate crime charge. Now BET is bringing them out and making celebrities out of the little thugs? Nice.
One cannot use the fact that some asshole white teenagers did something horribly offensive (the noose) as a justification for a vigilante attack like this. A 6 on 1 beating is vicious. It is cowardly. It is indefensible. Did they deserve the attempted murder charges? Maybe, maybe not. But they damn sure deserved to be charged with a serious crime. The damn sure do not deserve to be made to be victims. And they sure as hell do not deserve to be held up to anything but scorn and ridicule by the black community. No white person has ever defended the hanging of the noose on the tree. We called it what it was, an ugly act of racism. Why are you unable to call out these punks? Shame on you.
And Harry's exactly right. Were the roles reversed, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would be protesting the WET awards (if there were such a thing), and calling for everyone's head to be on the chopping block.
Why aren't they? Because they are professional "I'm offended" hucksters. When the "noose" incident happened, it was denounced. So why no denunciation when these criminal defendants are paraded around like they are some kind of victim in this case? There's tons of evidence that these kids did indeed beat that kid in a 6 on 1 brawl. And to have a disclaimer of "we don't condone a 6 to 1 beatdown" just minimizes the crime that these kids are accused of.
