Mr. Wizard Died

Today is a sad day. Don Herbert, known to the world at Mr. Wizard, died today at the age of 89. If you don't know who he is, check his website out at www.mrwizardstudios.com. He brought an entire generation up with teaching them fun ways about math and science. I was one of those in that generation. This was a long time ago when math/science interests were frowned upon in the general world and those who were interested in those subjects were outcasts in society.

Mr. Wizard made sure to make it entertaining and included everyone who wanted to come and made you feel smart and special for the time that you spent watching him. What I can't believe is that I'm sitting here crying over a man whom I've never met and he's the first celebrity I've cried over about their death. Normally this doesn't effect me in the least, but Mr. Wizard was truly a gifted man who made geek kids feel like they didn't have to be afraid of their curiosity and smarts.

Good bye Mr. Wizard. Thank you for the memories.
