George Has Lost His Mind

No not THAT George...not that one either....I'm talking about GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS.

ABC's chief Washington correspondent George Stephanopoulos told Charles Gibson on "World News" that Clinton is staying in the race to negotiate a spot on the Democratic ticket in November.

Good luck with that.

There are various exit strategies right now. Number one would be, go out on a win. So, stay in until West Virginia, where Sen. Clinton is likely the winner, and Kentucky on May 20, and after that, bow out. Two, negotiate for the imposition of Michigan and Florida, to get those delegations seated, declare victory on that, and get out. But the big one, Charlie — and this is what some people close to the Clintons are talking about: Is there a way to negotiate a settlement with Barack Obama to have Sen. Clinton on the ticket?

I can probably speak for the Obama campaign, even though I'm a Republican.  First off, there's no way that Michigan and Florida are going to be counted.  They broke the rules and now they are paying for it.  Hillary wouldn't even BEGIN to think about these two states if she were in the lead and Obama was trailing badly.  If these two states were included, it might push Hillary into the lead, and that's a chance that Obama can't take.  What's worse, is that Obama could win those two states and it could really backfire on Hillary's face.  (I know there's a Monica joke in there somewhere, but let's keep this professional shall we? :)  )  Plus it goes against his whole "change we can believe in" mantra, in that it will look like a Washington back door deal had been made.  It's lose-lose all the way around for Obama to sign off on it.

Secondly, after all the negative shit that Hillary said about Obama (Inexperienced, lacking the intestinal fortitude to be President, putting him in 3rd place after John McCain, etc), why on Earth would Obama forgive and forget what she's done?  If he did, who's to say she wouldn't backstab him at every possible corner?  That would undermine his administration at a time when we need world leaders to focus on the issues.  To tell you the truth, having to pick my poison, I'd rather have Obama in the White House then Hillary.  With her constant lying, her husband asleep at the switch when it came to Al-Qaeda, the Assault Weapons Ban that did nothing (Remember the North Hollywood shootout?), massive cuts in defense spending, and a host of other screwups, it's not difficult to believe that she would follow the same sort of ways of thinking that Bill did (Again, there's another Monica joke in there somewhere).  I simply can't have that.  The American people can't afford that.  Obama can't afford that.

It's hard to know. I mean, first of all, would Sen. Obama go for it? Can he get over the bitterness of this campaign? Can he be convinced that it's the strongest ticket? Third, of course, would Sen. Clinton take it? I think if it was offered in the right way, yes.

George, I think it's time you stopped drinking.  Obviously your judgment has been blurred by your commitment to the Clinton's.  Hillary has screwed up her campaign from day one and now she's doing anything she can to garner power;  which is something Obama claimed she does, and now she's proving it.
