Airstrike In Afghanistan Kills 7 Children

I normally don't report things like this, but I feel that it's important for people to know about. An airstrike was called in for a suspected Al-Qaeda safehouse. 7 children were killed along with several militants.

Now, most Islamic folks and liberals will point to this and call our men and women over there "baby killers", but here's a statement from the man on the ground: "We had surveillance on the compound all day and saw no indications there were children inside the building," said Army Maj. Chris Belcher, spokesman for the Coalition.

Here's why I believe him. In the years leading up to 9/11, we had several opportunities to kill Osama Bin Laden. We called off the strikes for various reasons, but one reason that was completely legitimate was the fact that on satellite photos of the area, a playground was discovered. We called off the airstrikes because we didn't want to kill children to get to Osama. If we're willing to call of airstrikes at Osama because children might be in the crossfire, then it's perfectly believable to think that they had every reason to believe that children weren't there if there were no signs of them all day long.

It's sad when children die. It's especially sad when they die because they happen to have relatives who are militants and they are within the vicinity of these children. Unfortunately, I don't think this will be the last time we hear of innocent people caught in the crossfire because of wrong place, wrong time.

The only way to solve this is for people to start turning in militants left and right. If they do that, they have a significantly less chance of getting hit by bombs or bullets.
