Ahh the one thing that people as a general rule are good at is complaining. Getting up and doing something about what you're complaining about is a whole different ballgame. But 45% of Americans favor George Bush's impeachment. Now, who's actually going to be the first brave politician and put forth the effort to do it?
There's already impeachment legislation working it's way through the halls of Congress for the impeachment of Cheney, but that's only got 10 co-signers and is likely to die off. Politicians (Democrats especially) feel that since Bush only has about a year and a half left on his Presidency that they should just wait out the clock.
Bad move idiots. If you feel that a politician has committed a crime that's an impeachable offense, you have a moral obligation to put forth the effort to remove them. When you don't, you look like power hungry hypocrites. When re-election time comes around your opponent is going to point this out that there was a "great wrong being done and this guy did nothing about it".
There's a reason why Congressional members approval ratings are in the shitter, people can see a bullshit artist when they see one and they are all feeling pretty pissed that they elected Democrats to get rid of the "culture of corruption" and they've proven to be so impotent at their job their approval ratings are lower then Bush's.

'power hungry hypocrites'
Isn't this essentially what ALL politicians are?
Your blog is interesting from a psychological perspective. I've got a sneaking suspicion that you're (in part) just playing out a role, a clearly exaggerated version of what you really think. The trouble is that now you begin to feel emboldened by what you write and believe it all the more.
'When re-election time comes around your opponent is going to point this out that there was a "great wrong being done and this guy did nothing about it".'
This is interesting. You single-handedly point out the utter madness that is the political machine at re-election. Because if the Republican party ever attempted to suggest that the Democrats should have done more to help America, and impeach Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld then surely the question is why didn't members of the Republican party or the right-wing media do something themselves instead of blindly supporting him?
My calling them to impeach Bush and Cheney is not a way to call Democrats to the carpet over their failure to impeach, it's mostly a call of their bluff. For years now they've rumbled about impeaching both of them but really haven't made a good faith effort to do so. That's the hypocrisy I'm trying to point out. Don't bullshit the public when you speak of impeachment, just do it. I'd have way more respect for Democrats if they followed this simple rule.
As a side note, occasionally I do go off the deep end, but for the most part, I do believe what I'm writing. To do anything less would be dishonest with my readers (you included) and to myself.
Most of the right leaning media out there like to be completely "right". They don't take a stand against this philosophy because it will alienate those that do believe in those certain subject. Abortion is a perfect example. Many right wing media types are completely against abortion, or at least they say they are. I am not. Why? It's not my business what a woman does with her pregnancy. The only time when it is my business is when it's my wife's pregnancy and even then, it's still not my choice on what to do with the baby if/when the subject of abortion came up.
But thank you for the compliments (I think they're compliments), but hopefully I've answered all your questions. :)
