Russia In A Tailspin In World Opinion

Ok, so, they invade Georgia, which to be fair, Georgia supposedly started.  But then, their military robs a Georgian bank, threatens Poland over it's missile defense shield agreement, AND tries to blame it all on the Bush administration.

Ok, so first up, anyone want to take any bets on if members of their military face ANY punishment for the bank robbery like our soldiers did in Iraq for their war crimes?

If you think they will, I'll gladly take that bet.

And care to guess why they are pissed about Poland's decision to agree to be a part of the missile defense shield?  Anyone?  Ok, I'll tell you. :)  They are noticing that other nations are breaking away from the Russian/Communist ideologies and it's coming at a time when Russia wants to get back as being a major world player again.

Plus, with Russia showing that it's willing to use anything at it's disposal to intimidate it's neighbors, Poland having a missile defense shield is a perfect way for Poland to tell Russia to fuck off.

Simply put, the bully is mad that it's potential victim now has a weapon to defend itself with.

And to blame it all on the Bush administration?  Let this speak for itself:

Russians were told over breakfast yesterday what really happened in Georgia: the conflict in South Ossetia was part of a plot by Dick Cheney, the Vice-President, to stop Barack Obama being elected president of the United States.

The line came on the main news of Vesti FM, a state radio station that — like the Government and much of Russia's media — has reverted to the old habits of Soviet years, in which a sinister American hand was held to lie behind every conflict, especially those embarrassing to Moscow. Modern Russia may be plugged into the internet and the global marketplace but in the battle for world opinion the Kremlin is replaying the old black-and-white movie.

The Obama angle is getting wide play. It was aired on Wednesday by Sergei Markov, a senior political scientist who is close to Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister and power behind President Medvedev.

Yep, it's the standard operating procedure for the liberals here in America, and now that sentiment has been exported to Russia:  EVERYTHING is Bush or Cheney's fault.

China cheating at the Olympics?  Bush's fault.

Russia's invasion of Georgia?  Cheney's fault.

Someone farts in an elevator?  Bush's fault.

You get the idea.
