A majority of Democrats think Barack Obama should select Hillary Clinton as his running mate, according to a new national poll.
Fifty-four percent of registered Democrats questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Friday think Obama should name his rival as his running mate; 43 percent disagreed.
The poll is the first national survey conducted since Obama claimed the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday night, at the end of the primary season. Clinton is expected to announce Saturday that she's suspending her campaign and backing her Senate colleague.
I feel all icky because of what I'm about to say and do: Defend Obama.
Why should he pick her as his VP? She said nasty thing about him. She said he wasn't experienced enough. She offered him the VP slot when she was LOSING. It was a token gesture that she's going to try to bring up now "well, I offered it to him, why shouldn't he offer it to me"?
Let's face it, Obama would be an idiot to pick Hillary. She's deeply unpopular in the United States, with the exception of California, New York, and a handful of other states. Her being on the ticket would polarize voters to vote for McCain....not that I see anything wrong with that...:)
