Baby Killers Wants To Be Free

Former Manson family member Susan Atkins has requested a "compassionate release" from prison because she has less than six months to live, a California prisons spokeswoman said Friday.

Atkins, 60, was convicted in the 1969 slayings of actress Sharon Tate and four others. She had been incarcerated at the California Institution for Women in Corona, California.

But Atkins has been hospitalized since March 18 and is listed in serious condition, state corrections department spokeswoman Terry Thornton said. Because of privacy laws, Thornton would not disclose the nature of Atkins' illness.

Atkins' husband and attorney, James Whitehouse, was quoted as saying she has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, according to a blog called Manson Family Today. She also has had a leg amputated, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday, citing sources close to the case.

Let's talk about "compassion" shall we?  Susan Atkins murdered Sharon Tate, who was 8 months pregnant.  Sharon BEGGED for the life of her and her unborn baby.  She was met with an "I don't care".  She was sentenced to death for her crime.  When California outlawed the death penalty, she got life in prison.

Now she has the nerve to ask for a "compassionate release"?  Fat chance.

What's worse is the idiots over at Democratic Underground have some people who seem to think she's better off out of jail:

5. Let her out.

It's been almost 40 years, she's not a threat to anyone.

2. Hopefully they release her

and hopefully her remaining family has the financial resources to provide the health care that she will need.

Luckily, there's quite a few people on the same site that agree with me and believe she should rot in jail.
