The Senate failed in their vote to allow Haebus Corpus to apply to everyone on the planet.
You know, it's bad enough that we have to give out our medical care, open up our borders, give out aid to foreign countries, and still get bashed in the world's public opinion, but simply put: NON AMERICAN CITIZENS DON'T HAVE AMERICAN RIGHTS.
That means you don't have the right to Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, or any other freedoms that American citizens enjoy.
That being said, there are rules that govern warfare. If one side does not adhere to those rules, they forfeit their Geneva Convention protections in my mind. You want to hide amongst the populace, kill innocent civilians, and wear civilian clothes? Then you don't get to claim prisoner of war status.
Enjoy your military tribunals idiots.
Here's how the voting went down.
What boggles my mind is how much the Senate loves to give our money and our rights away to every person on the planet, then is surprised when they have an angry constituency.
What's worse is that there are already idiotic sites out there that are claiming that this vote was to restore haebus corpus to American citizens. That's simply not true. What they are talking about is the Military Commissions Act, which already says that it doesn't apply to American citizens. You'd swear these people didn't even READ the damned thing.
