Soldiers Have Good Memories

It's not really a good idea to protest against soldiers and then turn around years later and offer to perform for them. They tend to remember who knifed them in the back. Joan Baez is learning that lesson now. It's been 40 years since the Vietnam war and she was a protester then and she's against the Iraq war now.

She was invited to perform at Walter Reed Hospital for returning soldiers, however, 4 days before the concert, she was told don't bother coming.

What's more troubling is how in the hell John Mellencamp managed to get to perform after he made comments stating he wouldn't have retaliated against Al-Qaeda or the Taliban after 9/11.

Host: "To have bombed Osama Bin Laden if we knew where he was would have been 'inappropriate'"?

Mellencamp: "Yes"

WHAT?!?! And yet this guy is performing for our troops and ALL of our troops supported military action against them. I think if soldiers knew about his comments more because this story wasn't covered that much in the media, they would throw his ass out quicker then anything.
