Hypocracy At The NY Times

God how I love to point out hypocracy. Some people like to golf, this is my hobby. This is all over the news, so I just had to post about it. A little more than a year ago, the NY Times exposed a data mining operation by the US government on it's citizens, they plan on doing the EXACT SAME THING.

Of course there's subtle differences between the two programs. First, the NSA's program was designed to find unknown threats against this country and protect American citizens from attack. The NY Times' program is about money.

Of course people will say "You can't escape the NSA's reach, but you can just not use the NYT's website". Well you CAN escape the NSA's reach by not using electronic communications, but people don't want to give up their cell phones, internet access, and emails. It's all about perspective.

I don't rail against certain "Republican" subjects because I would be a hypocrite in doing so. For example: Abortion. I have never been in a situation where the woman in my life was pregnant and wanted an abortion, so I'm not going to preach to someone because I have never been in that situation. Plus, it's not fair for me to try to impose my views onto someone else's life.

Personally, earlier in my life in my late teens and early twenties, when I was broke and had nothing, I might have given serious thought about an abortion if the situation came up and the woman thought about it too. Now, I would be against it because I now have the means to support a child. However, that's MY opinion and not what the woman should or shouldn't do. It's still up to her on how she wants her pregnancy to end: either with a child or an abortion.
