It's All About Spin

You knew that Democrats would try to spin Bush's veto of the spending bill to make it look like they weren't really the bad guys. And now, on one of the most popular Democratic blog on the internet, they have sunk to a new low:

Later today, ignoring the will of the American people, George W. Bush will veto the supplemental spending bill, cutting off funding for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, for healthcare for veterans and for Homeland Security. Said White House spokesman Dana Perino on the timing of this bill:

What I'd like to know is, Bush already warned Congress he would veto the bill if it contained a time line. Democrats knew that they didn't have enough votes to override a Presidential veto. They tried to pass the legislation once before, and even had the nerve to fill it with pork, even though one of their campaign promises was to remove pork spending.

Yet, somehow, this is Bush's fault. He gave them advanced warning what he wanted and what he'd do. Yet Democrats in Congress decided that they would try again even though they knew they'd lose. The President invited them to the White House to come up with a compromise, yet, they achieved nothing. Yet another campaign promise broken: Working with Republicans towards the common good of the US.

So try to blame it all on the big, bad President Democrats, it's not working and America can see through your bullshit. Soldiers on the ground can see through your bullshit, and it will cost you dearly in the 2008 elections.
