Hong Kong Gets Immigration Right

They turn away mainland Chinese pregnant women away at the border. It helps keep them from using up hospital resources. We should do the same thing for our borders. If you are over 7 months pregnant, you can't come to the US unless you have health insurance.

Local, American women need the resources available to them at hospitals. When non-citizens come into this country, check to see if they have health insurance. If they do, come on in. The health insurance will pay the medical bills and they can have their baby here in case birth comes early. If they don't, they get back on a plane, train, or turned around in line to go back to their home country.

We're not talking about a minor amount of resources here. Hospitals near the borders are reporting millions of dollars worth of unpaid bills because the parents are non US citizens.
