Attorney General Alberto Gonzales apparently hasn't taken first year law school classes. He seems to think that the president should be able to do what he wants, when he wants and that judges shouldn't have a say in the matter. It's called the "balance of power" Mr. Gonzales. Look it up....that's ok I'll wait.
While I agree that certain activist judges sometimes do put their own thoughts above what's law, it's the balance of power that allows this country to have the type of government we have without one single person getting too powerful. I agree with many of the President's actions in some of his more controversial moves.
If I were in his position, I'd rather piss off the American people then have them attacked and killed. You know damn good and well that if an attack came, people would scream for why he didn't "connect the dots" like they do about September 11th.
But you certainly can't ask a judge presiding over a case to bend to the President's will. That's wrong and Mr. Gonzales knows it.
