Romney suspends presidential campaign

It's pretty much John McCain for the Republican nomination now.  Mitt Romney has basically quit the race:

Mitt Romney suspended his bid for the Republican presidential nomination Thursday, saying if he continued it would "forestall the launch of a national campaign and be making it easier for Senator Clinton or Obama to win."

"In this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign be a part of aiding a surrender to terror. This is not an easy decision. I hate to lose," the former Massachusetts governor said.

"If this were only about me, I'd go on. But it's never been only about me. I entered this race because I love America, and because I love America, in this time of war I feel I have to now stand aside for our party and for our country."

Well I guess that makes my voting choices a little easier.  It now appears that my voting choices are John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama, or Ron Paul if he decides to run as an Independent.

Maybe it's just me, but there was just something creepy about Mitt Romney.  I couldn't quite place it, but he had that air of "robot politician" to him.  While I do disagree with John McCain about many issues, I do respect his service to this country during the Vietnam war as well as his ability to show that he's willing to crack a joke or two here and there.

I simply can't stand it when a politician tries to be everything for everyone.  You simply can't tell me that you are.  There are people out there that have said they'd vote for me for President, and there are people out there who hate my guts.  That's just the way life is. :)
