Beating A Dead Horse

God, when are the Democrats actually going to do the 5 day work week that they promised in their campaign? Not quite yet.

Congress under Democratic-control still will not be punching the clock for a 9-to-5 schedule.

Hoyer said his plan for most weeks was to hold first votes at 6:30 p.m. on Mondays and work until about 2 p.m. on Fridays.

Former House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Thomas, R-California, who retired at the end of the last session after 28 years in the House, said five-day workweeks could be particularly tough on West Coast lawmakers.

Democrats, he predicted, might have to come up with a more structured approach, such as two weeks or three weeks of work in Washington and then a week back in the district.

Isn't that what working is all about? You don't get to choose when you work, you work the hours that are expected of you from your boss. The American public is the boss in this arena, and they voted for Democrats based upon many things, including campaign promises. Now Democrats don't seem to want to be held to that promise.

I've touched on this subject before, but it just amazes me that Democrats would break a promise such as this one so quickly. Plus, they aren't even going to have 5 day work weeks for quite some time, if ever.
