The Congress You Deserve

The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.

Last month, 11% of voters gave the legislature good or excellent ratings. Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of 2008.

The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month. The number of Democrats who give Congress a poor rating remained unchanged. Among Republicans, 8% give Congress good or excellent ratings, up just a point from last month. Sixty-five percent (65%) of GOP voters say Congress is doing a poor job, down a single point from last month.

Voters not affiliated with either party are the most critical of Congressional performance. Just 3% of those voters give Congress positive ratings, down from 6% last month. Sixty-three percent (63%) believe Congress is doing a poor job, up from 57% last month.

Well America, is it everything you hoped it would be?  Democrats have had control over BOTH parts of Congress and they’ve managed to garner a whopping 9% approval rating.  That’s the first time in history that their approval rating has reached single digits.

What happened to “getting rid of the culture of corruption”?  What happened to doing something about the cost of rising gas (when it was $3 a gallon when they were elected)?  What happened to ending the war in Iraq?

You know what happened?  You were LIED to.  Democrats had a huge amount of Bush Derangement Syndrome, and said and did everything they could to get into power.  They preyed upon people’s trust because as a whole, America is built upon conservative values.

If Republicans kept to their core beliefs, we wouldn’t be in as nearly as much trouble as we are right now with voters.

So, to help my fellow Republicans, I’ll spell them out:

Lesser government involvement in people’s lives.

Low taxes and low spending.

Strict Constitutional values, such as Freedom of Speech, and Freedom to bear arms.

Stick to those three main beliefs, and you’ll be in office for a lifetime.  Even liberals can’t argue against these beliefs.

However, since Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Murtha, and their ilk lied to the American public about what they were going to do once in office, can they really be surprised that they have such a low approval rating?

I mean come on, Nancy Pelosi went to Syria and denounced us like a fucking lapdog.

Harry Reid called the war in Iraq “lost” when we weren’t even close to “losing” anything.

John Murtha called good US Marines “cold blooded killers” when in fact, they’ve done nothing wrong and charges are being dropped left and right.  He even had the audacity to not bother to apologize when the facts came out.  These are his fellow Marines that he threw under the bus.

All three of them are responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars in wasteful spending earmarks.  Then, they actually have the nerve to talk about the deficit like no one’s not going to see through that line of bullshit.

If you want to get things “back on track”, perhaps you should elect Republicans who stick with their core values I named above.  You’d be surprised what would happen if you did.
