Iran Admits It Withheld Information From IAEA

Iran has admitted that it withheld information from the UN's nuclear watchdog group because of fears of attack from Israel and the US.

Bullshit.

If it was truly afraid of an attack, they would have opened up their facilities even further. They would have shown that they were only enriching uranium for peaceful purposes or allowed the nuclear fuel to be processed outside of the country where it could not be made into weapons grade material.

The Iranian government wouldn't ratchet up the rhetoric if it didn't want a war and if it truly wanted to have a "peaceful" nuclear power reactor.

This is about as close as you are going to get to Iran admitting that they are going for a nuclear weapon. It makes no other sense for them to be so secretive and withhold information from the IAEA. If they were working on a bomb, it would help alleviate fears of an attack by Israel or the US. Then that would mean that they are wanting to build a nuclear bomb and the US was right after all.

Democrats And Terrorists Cozing Up

Democrats Lied Again

I assume you all remember when John Kerry warned of a draft that was in the works and how it wouldn't happen if you just voted for him. Well prominent Democrat John Murtha is advocating just that. Remember how Republicans said that they don't want a draft?

What does it take to prove to liberals that their leaders aren't good for the country? What does it take for them to see through the bullshit lies and backstabbing that people like Murtha are proposing? This is from the same guy who wants a timeline for withdrawal in Iraq and wants to leave the Iraqi people vulnerable to power hungry vultures like Moqtada al-Sadr.

With all the problems that the Democrats have been having lately, you'd think it would be like shooting fish in a barrel for Republicans.

David Hicks Formally Convicted

Now the Australian terrorist will serve no longer then 7 years in prison in his home country. That's in addition to the 5 years he's already spent in Guantanamo Bay. He was supposedly to have fought with Al-Qaeda for about 2 hours then sold his gun for cab fare to get out of Afghanistan. 2 hours or 2 years, it doesn't matter to me. You fought against us and had I been a soldier on the ground, I would have shot you. It doesn't matter that you didn't have prior knowledge of the 9/11 attacks. You fought along side of Al-Qaeda AFTER you knew of the attacks. That makes you a fair target and you should thank your lucky stars that you had been captured instead of killed.

Bush Apologizes For Military Hospital

So, the guy goes in, sees the mess, apologizes for it and vows to fix it, yet there's still critics? So tell me then, what could Bush have said/done to smooth over the scandal and fix the problem without getting critics? He's the President of the USA, his schedule is full out months in advance. With a war going on, the economy, the British sailors issue, and more on his plate, I think 6 weeks is pretty quick for visiting a place like this.

Of course, there's no excuse for soldiers not getting state of the art medical treatment. There's no excuse for mold on walls and soldiers having to wait months for tests and surgeries that are needed now. There shouldn't be paperwork at all for a soldier to deal with. You need surgery, you get surgery. You need psychological help from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder? How's your schedule look? We'll see you as soon as you'd like. That's the kind of treatment they deserve.

I work with a retired veteran and he has to go to the military hospital in my area from time to time and he's told me of many delays for various reasons and it's all unacceptable. Bush has PROMISED to fix it. If he does, then the critics don't really have a valid argument anymore.

Putin Does Something Right

For all the nasty things going on about Russian President Putin, he did something right today. He rejected calls to extend the amount of time and the number of terms a Russian President may have. He's been proven to not be very trustworthy, dissidents have been mysteriously dying left and right, and he's shut down oil to eastern Europe when they wouldn't agree to a price hike.

Of course, there's always the real possibility that the Russian's could elect someone far more sinister, but I am comfortable in the knowledge that Stalin has been dead for quite some time.

Ethiopian Helicopter Shot Down

Well at least we can count on someone other then the British, Australians, and a few other countries to step up against Islamic militants. The Ethiopians had a helicopter shot down in heavy fighting that leave 30 people dead. An RPG is most likely to have been the cause. They know what only a few other nations know: Militant Islamic terrorists will only go away as a threat when they are captured or killed. They cannot be appeased. They cannot be bought off. They certainly can't be reasoned with.

Kudos to the Ethiopian and Somali military for stepping up to the plate when other countries coware and point fingers.

Al-Sadr A Thorn In Our Sides Yet Again

Now he's calling for protests to mark the anniversary of Baghdad's fall. While peaceful protests are fine, Iraqi protests almost never turn out that way.

However, Democrats, I want you to read what he says and compare that to your timeline bill that you recently passed and the warnings that President Bush and others have said about that timeline.

"The departure of the occupier will mean stability for Iraq, victory for Islam and peace and defeat for terrorism and infidels."

Now tell me, how is it that giving a timeline for the withdrawal isn't going to be turned into propaganda and embolden our enemies? This man is a leader of a militia that is responsible for bombings and assassinations. He was even wanted for the murder of a rival cleric. So tell me, after he's told you point blank that once we leave it will signal a defeat for "infidels", how will a timeline be in the best interests of our soldiers and the Iraqi people?

Easy. You can't.

Suspected Cole Bomber Claims Torture

Well of course he claims torture. We're big, bad America. But of course, since he has details that no one else but the bombers should know, he's got no other recourse but to claim torture. Liberals and idiots like Rosie O'Donnell will eat this shit up of course. Terrorists are always truthful right?

Well if that were true, where did he get the money for a boat to open his "fishing business"? Boat's aren't cheap, even little shitty ones. By his own admission, he's met Bin Laden and taken his money, but he denies the Cole bombing. Well if that's the case, he should be imprisoned for being an associate of Al-Qaeda leadership. Bin Laden doesn't meet with just anyone, so he must have done something to warrant the meeting.

Senate Passes Bill With Withdrawal Item In It

But unfortunately for them, they didn't pass it with the 2/3rds they are going to need with Bush promising that he will veto it. This is the kind of "support" you can expect from Democrats if you're relying on American troops to help you get back on your feet.

Who cares that you are having security issues? Who cares if you have corruption that needs to be weeded out? Who cares if you need us now more then ever? Democrats want to get troops home now because they think it will make them look better to their constituents. I am obviously not one of their constituents.

I believe that we should stay there as long as it takes until the Iraqi's are able to handle security and day to day operations on their own. Of course, I'm not saying that we should stay there forever, but how does it make sense to announce when you are leaving to your enemy? Democrats don't seem to think long term strategy. They just look for the "what makes me look good or gather more power now?"

"We've spoken the words the American people wanted us to speak," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada. "There must be a change of direction in the war in Iraq, the civil war in Iraq."

Even here it's blatantly obvious that Democrats aren't thinking clearly. Harry Reid says "there must be a change of direction in the war in Iraq." The American public isn't saying "retreat", they are saying, "end the violence and get the Iraqi's back on their feet as quickly as possible."

Don't speak for the American public Mr. Reid, you don't know what we think. Perhaps if you came off your high horse you'd see that?? Nah, maybe not.

Pork Tracking Agency Stops After Democrats Take Control

So, there's an agency called the Congressional Research Service that tracks and puts a dollar figure on pork spending on bills and reports that don't require a vote. They've been doing it for years. Now, a month after Democrats have taken power in Congress, they have mysteriously stopped tracking that information.

Some Republicans don't want to point fingers at Democrats over this matter. That's ok. I will. Something isn't right and I'm willing to bet that either Democrats pressured this guy or this guy leans to the left a bit and decided it on his own. Either way, it is an important function of government that shouldn't be shut down for any reason.

Democrats have a nasty reputation for pork spending, and this doesn't sit well for me as it gives Democrats and pork spending Republicans the ability to spend and have one less avenue for the general public to know about it.

The Propaganda Begins

Now the Iranians are parading this new "letter from Faye Turney", the only female British soldier that was captured recently. In it, they claim that she questions the need for troops in Iraq.

"Isn't it time for us to start withdrawing our forces from Iraq and let them determine their own future?" said the letter, addressed to the British parliament and released to media organizations by the Iranian embassy in London.

The level of bullshit is off the charts on this one. Do the Iranians really expect us to believe that this letter is real? At first with all the trouble that Iran has been stirring up lately, I thought that they must have just a few stupid people peppered around the various levels of their government. Now, it's pretty much confirmed that there isn't a brain cell amongst them all. They are out gunned, out manned, and this is a no win situation for the Iranians.

I think Iran is just trying to provoke a fight so they can claim that we're big bad bullies, and we're picking on the poor Iranian government who only wants to live in peace.

They should feel lucky that they didn't do this to American troops. We have the most advanced special forces in the world and we don't leave anyone behind.

Senator Feinstein Finally Does Something Right

I commented on this a long while ago, but Senator Feinstein has resigned from one of her subcommittee's because of a blatantly obvious conflict of interest. Now if she'd only resign from the Senate for her various idiotic decisions. The one that she did most to bother me is this one.

In 1985, at a press conference, she revealed details about the hunt for Richard Ramírez, otherwise known as the Night Stalker, and in so doing angered detectives by giving away too many details of his crimes, including actual display of evidence at the press conference. These revelations subverted their investigation and enabled Ramirez to leave the San Francisco area to commit another murder before he was finally captured in the Los Angeles area.

Her words and idiotic actions allowed a killer to change his operations and allowed him to murder again. It's basic common sense that you don't reveal what you know about a killer until they have been captured or killed.

Democrats Will Doom Us All

Ok, so that title may be a bit much, but with this recent vote, how can you not think it? The house today voted to protect "john does" from lawsuits if they report any suspicious activity. In other words, if someone sees someone doing suspicious things, they can report that person and not get sued by that person, even if that person is later to have been found to not have done anything wrong.

Here's a link to how everyone voted. Please note, everyone who voted "no" was a Democrat.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, Mississippi Democrat and chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, opposed the motion over loud objections from colleagues on the House floor, forcing several calls to order from the chair.

So in other words, she has no problem with people suing people who report suspicious activities. She also is quoted as saying: "This might be well-intended, but it has unintended consequences."

She's exactly right there. If the Imams thrown off a plane recently weren't terrorists, and were doing suspicious things such as moving seats, asking for seat belt extensions when none were needed, and so on, they were doing it to get a hopeful lawsuit settlement from the airlines. This lawsuit would prevent them from suing the people who reported the activity, thus, it would be an "unintended consequence" for the Imams.

The Imams were also taking patterns in seating similar to the September 11th hijackers. Tell me that isn't suspicious in of itself.

Actor James Woods reported suspicious activity and it was found that the men he reported were among the September 11th hijackers. It was later learned that FAA officials didn't follow up on the report because it would be "racial profiling". That came back to bite everyone in the ass just 6 weeks later.

The bottom line is that everyone knows that the Imams kicked off the plane were either terrorists or seeking a way to yank the chain of the airlines and the government, hoping for a lawsuit settlement. When CAIR gets involved you know there's got to be some terrorist links somewhere.

Can Of Worms

So here's a video of the captured British sailors being shown across Iranian TV today. Of course, it's filled with the usual bits of propaganda. However, if we (by "we" I mean the US and the British) were at war with Iran, this would be a clear breach of the Geneva Conventions. You could argue that this is still a theoretical breach, but I wouldn't go that far. You can tell what she's saying isn't true in her mind. Take a look at when she smokes. Her eyes are focused on one point and she clearly appears nervous and stressed.

So, if the Iranians are willing to parade around prisoners for propaganda, what do you think they'd do if we were at war with them? But of course, you won't hear anyone complaining of Iran's bullshit, you'll only hear it about America.

And yes, when the photos of Saddam in his underwear were shown across the internet, it was wrong as well.

Idiot Allows Another To Drive $1.5 Millon Dollar Car

Completely off topic, but I thought I would comment on it anyways. Actor Eddie Griffin crashed a $1.5 million dollar Enzo Ferrari. The car belonged to the executive producer of his upcoming film. The car was totaled in my opinion. Yes, you can probably fix the damage, but you know that the car has been in an accident, therefore, depreciates the value tremendously.

Let me explain something to you all. I have a 300hp Honda CRX project car. The car still needs about $10,000 worth of upgrades before I'm "done". That car is MY car. No one drives it, not even my wife. If I owned a Ferrari of that caliber, you can bet that I wouldn't allow Mario Andretti to drive it. I share a lot of things of mine with a lot of people, but there are a few things I share with no one. My CRX is one of them and this guy should have known that it was a possibility that the car could come back in pieces.

That being said, I am glad Eddie is ok. The Ferrari Enzo has one of the most advanced, state of the art safety systems in any car on the planet. That is why the other Ferrari Enzo crash that you heard of, where the car was literally ripped in two pieces by the 160mph+ crash, the driver walked away.

So it's putting on a show for the Arab nations. Good for him. He's not too happy with "In beloved Iraq, blood is being shed among brothers in the shadow of an illegitimate foreign occupation, and ugly sectarianism threatens civil war," Abdullah said.

The problem is that we launched the war in Iraq from Saudi Arabia and other nations. Maybe he forgot that or he's just putting up a bullshit show for others. I'm voting for the latter. What it all boils down to is saving face. Saving face in the Arab world is a big deal, and we've used that to our advantage many times. We don't have that pride getting in our way. Because of that, we are able to accomplish much more.

It shows that the British sailors were within Iraqi waters when they were arrested. When the Iranians said they arrested the sailors, they said they were on a merchant ship at a particular point. Once the British showed that that point was STILL within Iraqi waters, the Iranians changed their story.

This is a simple matter of Iran trying to deflect attention away from it's nuclear program and do a possible prisoner swap. It shows how desperate Iran is to keeping it's grip on the minor amount of regional power it has.

They are now saying they will release the only woman in the group "shortly"

They are also saying that the sailors have "confessed"

John Edwards Wants To Guarantee Free Health Insurance?

Mr. Edwards needs to do something to differentiate himself from other prominent Democrats, and the rumor is that free health insurance for everyone is the answer. If that rumor is true, there's a ton of problems with it.

First off: Who's going to pay for it? Doctors aren't cheap for a reason. They go to medical school and take out hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans. John Edwards certainly isn't going to increase taxes to the poor. You know, the ones who would most benefit from the free medical insurance. He'll most likely want to tax the rich and middle class.

Secondly: How do you plan to keep costs down? State of the art medical equipment, medicines, and facilities aren't cheap either. Those are fixed costs. So what's your plan for that?

Lastly: Waiting lists. Every country with free medical care has long lines for treatment, even if it's a life threatening thing like an organ transplant. How will you fix that issue?

All of these reasons and more are why free medical insurance simply won't work.

If you "give" something away, you have to pay for it from somewhere.

50-48 was the vote to keep the timeline for keeping troops in Iraq. However, President Bush has already said that he intends to veto that bill. For those of you who don't know the American political system (I have many international readers), if the President vetoes a bill, Congress can override the President with a 2/3rds majority vote.

If they cannot get that majority, then the bill fails and they have to go back to the drawing board. However, with as long as it takes to get a bill in place, President Bush will have been out of office for a while by the time it comes back around. It's all about doing what's right, rather then what's popular.

FBI Director Asks Not To Have Ass Handed To Him

If the Patriot Act powers is revoked from the FBI, they may have to resort to: GASP! Real police work! Mr. Mueller was read the riot act today in his testimony at a hearing to determine whether or not the FBI deserves to have these new found powers after it's been found that they have abused those powers pretty frequently.

While I agree that fighting crime and terrorism is a very tough job by some very tough people, the fact that this power was abused flies in the face of the rights that every American enjoys and is entitled to. If you are an FBI agent and suspect that a person is a criminal/terrorist, get some evidence on it. There are rules in place for a reason, even when there's a "ticking timebomb" situation. Democrats Budget - "Largest Tax Increase In History"

Well the Democrats have proven time and time again the stereotypes that they have against them. This time is no different. Link goes to a PDF file. Some of the highlights:

Reduction of Child Tax Credit: $27 Billion Increase

$13 Billion in "Marriage Penalty"

$91 Billion in "Death Tax"

$32.5 Billion in Capital Gains and Dividends

So in other words, if you have a child, are married, die, or invest in the stock market, which is pretty much everyone in America, you will see a significant tax rate increase. The highest in history.

Democrats don't understand that if you cut taxes, you can increase revenue. For example, the article states that revenue increased 16.5% in 2006, 14.6% in 2005, and 9.3% in the first five months of fiscal year 2007.

Democrats want to increase the minimum wage, but they want to increase the taxes that everyone pays. In other words, they would take money out of your pocket, and put it into the pockets of the government. Hillary Clinton has been quoted as saying about oil company's profits: "I would TAKE those profits and use them..."

So go ahead Democrats, push for your tax increases, you pork barrel spending and other typical Democratic stereotypes. You won't be in power long if you make it harder for people who live paycheck to paycheck.

The Problem With Illegal Immigration

First off, we have a massive, 600,000 case backlog of kicking out people who were ordered out of the US. Why is it we can't have a deal with say United Airlines that says: Each time you fly to a foreign country, if you have a spare seat, we'd like to give an illegal alien a one way ticket to that country. In exchange, we'll help lower your taxes. Or some other such deal. Why are we relying on the honesty of someone who broke the law to leave?

Put an illegal immigrant in a county jail until the flight leaves. Have a guy drive to the airport with a group of illegal immigrants, and make sure each one gets on the plane. Not difficult here people. I just came up with that off the top of my head. I imagine that if someone sat down with a bunch of other people, they could come up with a better plan.

Of course, it all depends on the honesty of the border patrol people too. They need to not be allowing smugglers into the country like this guy did. Most border patrol people are hard working, honest people, but if you flash around a few extra thousand bucks in their face, some of them may get tempted into taking it.

10th Grade Test To Remove Math/Science?

What ever happened to kids just being "stupid"? God forbid you actually TEACH a child something, rather then let them slide because they or teachers don't want to try harder. This is the reason why the United States is falling behind in these areas. Kids need to understand that you have to EARN you way to the top. There are very few people that didn't bust their asses getting their hard earned money.

56% of the kids who took the math test passed. 38% passed science. What does that mean? That means that if these kids don't study harder, they will have lesser paying jobs and be complaining about minimum wage when they are 35 because it's what they earn on an hourly rate. It means that they won't be driving around in Bentley's like the rap artists that they see on MTV. It means that they'll be asking me if I want fries with that when I pull up through the drive through.

If you want to be rich, live in a nice home, or simply not have to kill yourself every day for scraps, you won't find a country on earth that provides you with more opportunities then the USA.

Why do you suppose people immigrate here? They know what I know: You can get as wealthy as you want to get in this country, and no where else.

Conserve Electricity?

Then your bill goes up? That's what a Toronto based electric company wants to have happen. They encouraged people to conserve electricity, and when they did, they noticed a revenue shortfall. Rather than being ok with it, they are asking for a rate hike. Something like that would piss me off enough for me to seriously look at solar cells or wind power to get completely off the grid from them.

I'm already seriously looking into solar power for my home, and I've found a nice one that will pay for itself within about 7 years time. The problem is that I may not be in this home in 7 years time. My wife is finishing up her Master's degree and we may bump our plans to build/buy our retirement home a bit early depending on how much of an income bump the new degree provides.

It couldn't hurt for all of you out there to take a look at renewable energy alternatives, but stay connected to the grid just in case. You could generate power during the day when you are at work, but then use it when you come home at night. However, costs are prohibitive so far. Upwards of $30,000 aren't too uncommon for large solar arrays. My particular setup would have ran me about $15,000. Either way, it's something that we all should probably look at.

But that's not what lawmakers are pissed about. They are pissed about the recent firings of 8 US attorney's. Gonzales' comments about Haebus Corpus, has seemed to have been swept away
and no one seems to care. But if the firings are what gets Gonzales out of office, I'm ok with that too, even though nothing illegal was done in those firings.

Bodyguards Involved With Attempted Iraqi Assassination

That's a pretty heavy accusation. I'm sure they have some kind of evidence to support it. It just goes to show you the kind of things that our guys and girls are dealing with over there. People who are supposed to be trusted, sometimes cannot be. Nine other people were killed in the attack.

"We say for all traitors, the officials in [Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri] al-Maliki's infidel government, that the worst waits for you. You will never be safe as long as we are alive and our hearts are beating," said a statement posted to an Islamic extremist Web site.

The only way to deal with a situation like that is to hunt them down and kill them. Otherwise they'll never stop and you'll never have true peace.

Hillary's Unbelievable Bullshit

I came across this little number just a few minutes ago after searching around the internet. In it, Hillary claims that if Bill had seen the now infamous "bin laden determined to attack within the United States" memo, she is certain that Bill would have taken the threat much more seriously then the current president does.

Bullshit. She knows damned good and well that Osama was the one responsible for the bombings of the two American embassies in 1998, why else would he have launched those two cruise missiles at Bin Ladens camps in August of that year?

This is exactly why Democrats, especially the Clinton's, are known to be weak against terrorism. Bill Clinton was handed NUMEROUS opportunities to get Bin Laden and he failed each and every time for various reasons, including worrying about public opinion and international reaction.

Bill Clinton knew that Osama was a threat and he knew that Osama had acted against American soil (the embassies), so explain to me your bullshit logic Hillary, how is it that your husband didn't know Osama was a threat until after 9/11?

Vindication

I think I peed myself driving into work this morning. I was listening to the Adam Carolla show and Michael Scheuer is a guest on his show. You may remember Dr. Scheuer as the man who confirmed my story about how Osama Bin Laden was allowed to escape for financial reasons.

Well the first thing Adam asks is why we didn't get Osama Bin Laden. Dr. Scheuer told the nation exactly why: His unit had Bin Laden in their sights and after he was known to be a threat President Clinton didn't authorize them to capture or kill Bin Laden. Dr. Scheuer also tells listeners that when Clinton goes onto shows and tells people he did everything that he could, that Clinton is a liar.

The problem is that in the eyes of a lot of people, Bill Clinton can do no wrong. Dr. Scheuer proves that Clinton put money and opinion above the safety and well being of the American public.

I'm glad that Dr. Scheurer points this out. He doesn't go all against Democrats and Clinton, he also faults Republicans in many ways, for example, at Tora Bora. However, Clinton has been exposed across the nation as the liar and the traitor that he is. It's going to be a good day for me today. :)

Although the audio isn't on the website as of right now, take a look back tomorrow on Adam's website, as you will probably be able to download it in mp3 format.

Iran Reacts To New UN Sanctions

While we have the usual rantings of a mad man from President Ahmadinejad, it is interesting that Iran has chosen the route of partially cutting off UN cooperation. Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki even spoke these poetic words:

"Choosing the path of confrontation ... will have its own consequences," he said without elaborating.

It's almost like they have the three stooges making international policy making decisions for them. I think they've managed to go down a road where they think that if they reverse course, they will lose face. While technically true, they don't seem to mind if other world leaders lose face on various other issues. Pride is what is the biggest thing in their way right now. A little humility will go a long way. We've all had to back down from things from time to time, it's now Iran's turn to back down. They are painting themselves into a corner so deeply, it will make even their staunchest ally think twice before dealing with them.

Economic sanctions, arms embargoes, bank accounts frozen, they need to take a look at their economy and see just how much they are willing to put up with before the cost becomes too great. People will start losing their jobs, government services will grind to a halt, and the Iranian public will soon tire of dealing with hardships for a nuclear program for "peaceful" purposes.

Israel's not a threat, the US is not a threat as long as they stop supporting the insurgency in Iraq. But until they come to this conclusion themselves, they will face further and further isolation until one day, it all collapses around them.

Video Of Portland Effigy

Here's a video of the effigy of the American soldier at the protests in Portland, Oregon earlier last week. You can't tell me that these idiots are "supporting the troops" while opposing the war when they are chanting "bye bye GI, in Iraq you're gonna die". So, anyone like to defend their actions? Anyone? It's a despicable act that doesn't surprise me in the least with cowards coming out of the woodwork. They wear masks and they wouldn't dare do it to a soldiers face.

Democrats And The Poor

Think that the government taxes the poor to death and lets the rich slide? Perhaps this might change your mind. For every dollar of taxes collected in 2004, the Federal government spent $0.32 cents on the top 20 percent. For the bottom 20 percent? $14.76 for each dollar collected. So in other words, the bottom 20 percent of received 14x the amount of government spending then what they put in.

How is that fair? Why is it that just because you earn more money they other people, that you don't get your fair share? I'm not calling for people to be let to starve to death, but $14 bucks per dollar collected? That's ridiculous! How is it fair that someone paid attention in class, busted their ass and now makes a good living rather then someone who didn't pay attention in class or decides they just don't want to work and yet they get more "bang for their buck" then someone who pays more taxes then the rest of us combined?

Democrats would have you believe that the poor need even more programs and handouts. I don't want to give a handout, I want to give a hand up. On welfare and can work? We'll give you a job. Streets need cleaning, computers need repairing, and there's a ton of other things that the government needs done but doesn't have the man power for. I'd much rather give someone a job so they can support their family rather then just hand over money for no return. It's called EARNING your money.

UN Leader Dismisses Hamas Talks

Calling the time "not ripe" for talks, the new UN leader has rejected talks with the Hamas/Fatah lead government. This gives them the clearest signal that the world isn't going to stand for their stance of non recognition of Israel, and their terrorist ways. Until Hamas learns that the international community won't support people who support terrorism, they will continue to get further isolated and international aid will be cut off until sooner or later, they renounce terrorism and work on a peace plan, or they simple wither and die off.

The new UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, gets a lot more respect from me for this stance then Kofi Annan did for his years of corruption and appeasement.

Iran To Try British Sailors For Espionage

Yes, I'm sure this will end well. Iran is just trying to deflect attention away from their nuclear program or use these sailors as negotiation tools for that program. Unfortunately, I don't think that'll work. First off, British Prime Minister Tony Blair is already stating that they weren't in Iranian waters. He's also stated that this incident is "very serious." I have no doubt that if push comes to shove, that the British will forcefully return the sailors back home. Hopefully, for everyone involved, Iran will come to their senses and return the soldiers and their equipment.

You can bet your ass that they wouldn't have tried this against American sailors though. They know that we're just itching to pop a couple cruise missiles at them for their supporting the insurgency. So, maybe someone within the Iranian government will say something and they will peacefully return the men.

If not, you can expect people to die.

UN Passes New Sanctions Against Iran

Arms embargoes, bank account freezes, and more are now the norm for Iran. This reminds me of the child who keeps pushing his parents and they keep adding and adding punishment until the child finally gets it. What steps do you think will be the one that finally gets their attention? My guess would be more economic sanctions. Their economy depends heavily on their oil exports. Make that more expensive or sanction it, and you'll get their attention pretty quickly.

Officers To Be Blamed/Reprimanded For Tillman's Aftermath

While under certain circumstances such as classified operations, the way that a soldier died is very important information that the family may want to hear. If it is not known at the time, a simple, "we're investigating it and will let you know when we know more" is more then fair.

What I want to know is: would this have gotten the attention that it did had it not been Pat Tillman? A good looking young man who gave up the easy life to fight terrorism and defend his country is cut down in a sad case of friendly fire isn't the way that anyone should go. The family deserved the truth on how he died, why he died, and what mistakes, if any, were made.

I'm quite certain that those who did the firing have been devastated by their tragic mistake. However, anything that did go wrong should be corrected and if punishment is warranted, should be laid out. Sometimes accidents do happen, and there's nothing you could have done differently that would have changed the outcome.

However, if you are lying to the families about their loved ones death, you deserve whatever punishment the military dishes out. It's a simple matter of tact, honor, and honesty.

But, but, this is an outrage! They have the right to protest right? Certainly a liberal Democrat wouldn't have a problem with protesters right? Democrats are practically protesting every day. You never heard of Nancy Pelosi wanting to have people removed and arrested for the recent protests over the Iraq war in Washington DC earlier this month.

President Bush Responds To House Bill

"A narrow majority in the House of Representatives abdicated its responsibility by passing a war spending bill that has no chance of becoming law and brings us no closer to getting the troops the resoures they need to do their job," the president said. "These Democrats believe that the longer they can delay funding for our troops, the more likely they are to force me to accept restrictions on our commanders, an artificial timetable for withdrawal and their pet spending projects. This is not going to happen."

Oh how I love a good fight. I especially love one where one side won't budge and the other has a reputation for throwing in the towel when things get rough. Let's see how well this bill holds up under fire.

Travis

House OK's Timetable For Iraq Withdrawal

Now all Al-Qaeda and Insurgents need to do is wait it out, claim victory, and get more entrenched in Iraq. So the vote was 218-212. Of course, the President is threatening a veto, and rightfully so.

"The American people have lost faith in the president's conduct of this war," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. "The American people see the reality of the war, the president does not."

The reality of war is that you defeat the enemy Nancy, regardless of how long it takes. You don't say "if we aren't done by this time, we quit." That amounts to surrender and terrorist propagandists will have a field day with it.

"You see! I told you the Americans would run. I told you they were a paper tiger. I told you that God is on our side." That's what you can expect. You can expect Iran to be emboldened that we won't have the stomach for a fight when it comes down to brass tacks. You can expect to be called cowards and spineless.

While most American's polled are indeed against this war, most also see the need to keep the troops there until Iraq can get on it's feet. If they are not able to do so and we pull out, there will be a massacre on a much larger scale then when we encouraged people to rise up against Saddam and we didn't back them.

Democrats love to talk about how we "weren't there" for various allies and how that "if only we had done this" things would be different. Well, we are there now and we are doing things, but they want to yank the rug out from underneath the troops and all the progress that they've made so far.

What about those who've died and were wounded? Were their sacrifices made for nothing? It is our moral responsibility to help Iraq get back on it's feet and if we don't, we'll leave it very vulnerable to those who wish to fill the power vacuum.

I Can See The Future!

And it isn't good for China. China's President Hu Jintao is going to Russia to try to get an energy deal with them. China has a bustling economy right now, and they need energy to feed that. There are many problems though that I don't think China has thought through.

First, China wants to lower the prices of energy. Russia isn't having any of that. Recent examples of Russia putting pressure on eastern European countries to increase the prices are what gives me this way of thinking.

Secondly, and more importantly, Russia has already shown that they will shut things down if things don't go their way. China can't have that. If prices to extract and refine oil go up, Russia isn't going to let that eat into their profits. They will want to pass that price increase down to China. China won't budge, and Russia will shut off the supply.

You can see where this is all going. You don't need a crystal ball to see that once China becomes reliant on Russia, there's a whole can of worms that will be opened up and one side is going to blink.

Bill Clinton - It's Just Not Fair"

Wow, I think I just had a brain aneurysm trying to follow the logic of Bill Clinton in this article. He's claiming "it's just not fair" that his wife is being shown in a particular light over her voting in 2002 to authorize force against Saddam.

So Bill, let me ask you something, how is it "not fair" that she's being criticized by people over the vote that she cast? The politicians voting record is the single biggest yard stick that you can use to judge how well of a job they are doing.

Would it "just not fair" to judge you for allowing Osama Bin Laden to be hit because you made a decision to let him go over an upcoming financial deal? That decision ultimately lead Osama and his henchmen to plan and carry out an attack that lead to the deaths of 3,000 innocent civilians. Would that be "not fair"?

Her vote authorized force, and force was used. Her vote wasn't "hijacked". Her vote was made, and now she has to be an adult and stand by her decision. She made numerous quotes about the threat that Saddam posed and she knew that with her vote, war was a real possibility.

She's a big girl who's very intelligent who now needs to act like an adult and you need to stop blaming others for yours and her track records.

US Pissed About Italian Hostage Exchange

Rightfully so. They traded 5 Taliban prisoners for a journalist? Good going Italy, you've now shown Al-Qaeda and the Taliban that you're willing to free their people if they kidnap one of your own. How far up does a Taliban or Al-Qaeda prisoner have to be before you say no? Would you free Osama Bin Laden if they captured another Italian journalist?

What are you going to tell the families of any victims if these 5 people build a bomb and kill someone? "Sorry, we had to have this guy back, he was a really good journalist". Don't bother using intelligence and special forces to get your guy back either. That doesn't make sense at all.

Let's say that hostage swaps actually work. How about some simple math? 5 guys for 1? How is that fair in the least? 1 for 1 is fair. You guys got screwed in a major way. You let them know you're weak, you let them have more then what's fair, and you pissed off a major ally. Good going.

We Could Fight On A Third Front - Gates

While yes, technically we could, I wouldn't recommend it. Most countries who fought on two fronts lost miserably (Germany in WW2 comes to mind). What most people don't seem to understand is, is that Iraq is now coming into it's own, and we can start ratcheting down the troop levels as soon as they are ready. We're already starting to see progress from the troop increase earlier this year.

However, what most people also don't understand, is depending on the enemy, we may not have to fight that war. For example, if Iran decides it wants to get a bit uppity, I'm QUITE certain that the Israeli's would be more then happy to step up to the plate.

So yes, we COULD fight on a third front if need be, but I think that it would mean that we would fight a real war instead of a "bomb the shit out of them, then help them rebuild" kind of thing like we're doing in Afghanistan and Iraq right now.

Democrats Unraveling

House Democrats pulled a bill to grant voting rights to Washington, D.C., after Republicans offered a motion that would repeal the gun ban for the District.

So, let me get this straight. Democrats want Washington DC residents to have voting rights within the Senate, (good), but don't want them to have gun rights (bad)? This goes to show you that Democrats truly want to ban your rights to own guns, not just Washington DC residents.

Why else would they pull this bill? There's no other reason. The NRA has warned against this for years and they've been derided as gun toting loony tune types. Now they've been proven right.

Democrats that I work with have noticed in a big way that their party is letting them down. They seem to resent it when I back up my beliefs with facts and quotes from their favorite politician.

Some people like to golf, this is my hobby. :)

Senate Panel Authorizes Subpeona For Rove

This is a double edged sword here and I am on the fence on it for a few reasons.

First off, you should be able to subpoena anyone in the country for any legal reason. That's just the rule of law. No one should be above that.

However, on the flip side, there's Executive Privilege. What that means is that the President needs to be able to keep things from others because of various reasons. The President needs to have frank, candid, and honest conversations with those in his staff to make decisions about things that effect the nation. If he has someone under subpoena, he may think twice about conversations with that person, even if those conversations were legal.

However, the issue is over the recent firings of 8 US attorneys. While I don't like it when anyone is out of work, there's nothing illegal about the firings.

Democrats are trying to find anything they can to try to discredit or impeach the President, Vice President, or any members of his staff. The problem is, they've done nothing illegal, so instead of running the country and helping unite people like they said they would, they just want to do a fishing expedition that wastes time and taxpayer money.

Council Gun Hearings For Gun Owners In DC

You gotta be shitting me. Check this out.

The gun ban left the District with some of the toughest gun laws in the nation, restricting ownership of most guns that were not registered before 1977. Privately owned rifles and shotguns were required to be kept at home and stored unloaded, disassembled or bound by a trigger lock or a similar device.

What the hell's the point of owning a gun for defense if it's disassembled? The point of having weapons available is so that if you need to defend yourself or a loved one, that it's easily available to you. My guns are locked away, but are easily available within 2 seconds. However, it's my CHOICE to lock these weapons away. It's my home, I decide how things are ran.

It amazes me that Washington DC even has this problem. A federal appeals court recently stated that the Second Amendment applies to individuals as well as "well regulated militias".

Council member Mary Cheh, Ward 3 Democrat, called the proposal to allow guns for self-protection a "dangerous, nutty experiment" that would only increase violence.

Really? Another Democrat trying to take away your Constitutional right to own a weapon? Big shocker, I know, but give me an example of how allowing people to exercise their rights would be "nutty."

Washington DC has one of the highest murder rates in the country, so allowing law abiding citizens will make that rate go even higher? It's a ridiculous notion and this person needs to be voted out of office.

If you don't want to be around guns, fine. Don't buy one. But don't infringe on the rights of others and expect them to roll over and play dead.

Use Of Deadly Force To Be Expanded

In Texas. Now only if we can get that law passed across the US we'd be in business. Criminals don't like armed victims. Plus, it's WAY easier to capture someone who's escaped when they go into the hospital for a gunshot wound. :) I shouldn't be second guessed by a prosecutor or anyone else for actions I take when I reasonably believe that my life or the lives of others is in jeopardy.

I always say: it's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. If I shoot someone defending myself or anyone else, you can bet your ass that the prosecutor who decides to put charges against me will be facing a massive lawsuit.

Democrats, Is There Anything They Can't Do?

Well, they can't seem to keep a campaign promise. I must have done something in a previous life to earn such easy targets as Democrats. I can't imagine what that could be though. :)

Now Democrats are breaking YET ANOTHER campaign promise of not seeking to extend voting to solicit more support for a particular bill
. Usually, it's 15 minutes, but:

Now in the majority and facing their first close vote with the $124 billion wartime spending bill, House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) is leaving open the possibility that Democrats might extend the vote beyond the usual 15 minutes.

Asked Wednesday night whether Democrats would keep to the time limit, Hoyer paused, then pointed out that many votes can run a few minutes longer for various reasons. Pressed further by a reporter who pointed out that Democrats themselves had often criticized Republicans on this very point, Hoyer said, "It won't be open three hours. How about that?"

"How about 30 minutes?" the reporter asked.

"I won't guarantee it," Hoyer replied.

On their first day in the majority in January, Democrats amended the House rules to mandate that a vote "shall not be held open for the sole purpose of reversing the outcome of such vote."

But of course, Mr Hoyer doesn't seem to remember just a few short years ago when he did the exact opposite.

In a July 8, 2004, news release, Hoyer railed against GOP leaders for extending a 15-minute vote to 38 minutes in order to defeat a spending amendment offered by former Rep. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

"House Republican leaders proved once again today that they will stop at virtually nothing to win a vote, even if that means running roughshod over the most basic principles of democracy such as letting members vote their conscience and calling the vote after the allotted time has elapsed," Hoyer said.

"They ought to be ashamed of themselves, but when it comes to holding votes open and twisting the arms of their own members they clearly have no shame,’’ he went on. “These back-alley tactics have no place in the greatest deliberative body in the world. They might be the lifeblood of the tin-horn dictator, but not a world leader. It's an embarrassment.

The REAL embarrassment Mr. Hoyer, is your complete hypocracy when it comes to meeting your own needs. You either don't extend the vote or you do. You can't have it both ways. When you're not in power, you want a quick vote, when you are in power, you don't.

Democrats such as yourself are the reason why people's opinion of Congress is still low, even though the balance of power has shifted. The American public has seen through your bullshit campaign promises and are pissed that they've been lied to from your party.

Nanny Laws Are The Bane Of America

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you pass a law that tells me how much food I can eat, or whether or not I can listen to my ipod while crossing the street, I, as an American, have every right to tell you to "go fuck yourself".

I have the right to do what I want, when I want, and say what I want, as long as I'm not infringing on the rights of others. That means if I want to eat every day at Krispy Kreme and get fat, I can. That means if I want to blow out my ears listening to Metallica, I can.

Politicians need to understand that Americans are used to having freedom to make choices about the way they live and will get pissed and vote them out of office if they try to take those freedoms from us.

For example:

New York's City Council recently called on residents to voluntarily stop using the n-word and approved a ban on metal baseball bats in high school games, because of fears that youngsters will get killed by balls rocketing off the bats. Mayor Michael Bloomberg has yet to take action on the bat ban.

Metal baseball bats have been used for decades and they are no more dangerous then wood ones. If someone wants to use the word "nigger", that's their choice. I disagree vigorously with them using that term, but that's their right as an American. You'll notice that the City Council didn't ask residents to stop using other terms like: Honky, Cracker, White Devil, Chink, Gook, Fag, or other racist or derogatory terms. People have the right to be assholes, eat fatty foods, and do unhealthy things to themselves, because we have a right to privacy and the right to be free. "Nanny" laws restrict that freedom.

How Democrats Really Feel About The Troops

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. So, if that's the case, here's 2,000 words:

Pakistan? Iraq? Iran? Nope, these little bits of truth are from Portland, Oregon. They were taken a short while ago and show the true feelings of liberals and the anti-war crowd. They don't give a shit about troops like they say they do. They don't care about the rights that they enjoy to be able to say the things they are saying being protected by the very people they are condemning.

They don't even have the balls to uncover their faces so we know who's behind these atrocious images. I've said in the past that liberals are cowards who don't support the troops, and now, without question, I have been proven correct. They are short sighted, idiotic people who have no concept of national defense. They say that they are against the war but for the troops. Bullshit, these images prove beyond a shadow of a doubt what liberals really think of our troops.

Think it's just a "small minority"? Take a look at the "fuck the troops" image. Take a look at how many people are in the background marching in this fucked up parade.

This is what you can expect from the anti-war crowd. No support, effigies, and a cowardly despicable person hiding behind a mask.

Iranian Supreme Leader Warns Of Ignoring Rules

Good job idiot. Are they all really that stupid over there in the Iranian leadership? Do they not see that they are painting themselves and their allies into a corner?

Iran's top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Wednesday the country will pursue nuclear activities outside international regulations if the U.N. Security Council insists it stop uranium enrichment.

If you do that, you can virtually guarantee that the Israeli's are going to have a say in the matter.

And of course, down the article list, Russian officials are denying that the nuclear plant they are building and the UN sanctions are linked. So it begs the question of who is right in the Russian leadership? Are they linking the nuclear plant fuel to the UN sanctions or not? Only time will tell, but you really begin to wonder who's side Russia is really on sometimes.

Sorority Blames Media For Problem

When you're quoted as saying something, don't go pointing fingers because a shitstorm erupts because of your comments. It makes you look petty and weak. That goes for everyone from John Kerry, to Al Franken, to you and me. Take your lumps like an adult for things you've said and be done with it. Don't be a coward and point a finger because you said something that pissed someone off. Stand by your comments or explain what you meant by them if they came our wrong.

Outgoing CEO Refuses Bonus

Here's something you don't read about every day. An outgoing CEO of Delta Airlines is refusing a bonus and stock options because it wouldn't serve any good and would be better spent on the employees.

That's the kind of leadership that you should look for in a CEO. The kind that can look out for the employees rather then themselves. Sure, CEO's have no personal lives to speak of much and they are working constantly, so they do deserve a higher salary, but there does come a time when a person should say "enough is enough".

CEO salaries have gotten WAY out of hand lately and it's time to reign them in. Salaries for top executives should be based upon performance, length of service, and leadership. Good CEO's should be making millions if their company does well and they should be making significantly less when they are doing poorly.

A perfect example is former HP CEO Carly Fiorina. She took bonuses in the millions of dollars when HP was performing very poorly. She fired 39,000 people, and created a minor disaster when she convinced everyone to purchase Compaq. It was then found out that she had a contract that stated that she would get a bonus if the merger went through. That's sneaky and underhanded and she should have been penalized for it. However, she wasn't and when she was fired, she was given bonuses that exceeded a lifetime's worth of salary for even top engineers at her company.

If your company doubles or triples in value during your tenure, there's no problem at all for you getting a $10 million dollar bonus. If your company loses extreme amounts of money during that time, you should get no bonus and only a small yearly salary.

Rising Mortgage Defaults?

America, I'm going to give you some sound advice that was given to me in my earlier years. DON'T LIVE ABOVE WHAT UNEMPLOYMENT PAYS.

If you can't truly afford a particular home, don't buy it. Look at a different home. Look in an area further away from the city. Get a room mate. My wife and I make comfortable livings doing our respective careers, and if one of us loses our jobs, we'd be fine.

Lenders: Stop financing homes to people who can't afford it. Sure, it's tempting to squeeze every dollar you can out of someone if you're a scumbag, but you're only hurting yourself and the economy if you continue to do so.

What's Wrong With Somalian Extremists?

So let me get this straight. When Islamic extremists see us doing anything even remotely wrong, they like to riot, picket, and call for the deaths of everyone around them. When they drag the bodies of dead soldiers through the streets, that's ok?

This is a typical pattern of the "poor me" crowd. They love to spout off death threats and drag people through the streets in celebration, but if you fight fire with fire, they get all uppity about it. Funny, it sounds like the same thing Democrats like to pull, admittedly not as extreme, but that's just my own observations. :)

Woody Harrelson's Dad Dies

Normally, I wouldn't report on celebrity news, but Woody Harrelson's father passed away in the Supermax Federal prison today. He was a hitman who was hired by a drug dealer to kill a Federal judge. There was even rumors that he was somehow involved in the JFK assassination. Either way, good riddance to a man who lived longer then he should have.

Congressional Job Approval Dismal

Ha! This is the best news I've heard all day. When Democrats won power in Congress, they did it with campaign promises that they had no intention of keeping. Now, only a few months in, their job approval rating is back to levels when Republicans were in control.

Let's see what Democrats have done in those two months shall we? Undermine the troops? Check. Hypocracy about changing the "culture of corruption" especially in regards to William Jefferson? Check. Exact opposite of campaign promises to remove pork barrel spending? Check. Bi-partisan promises with exact opposite actions? Check. Democrats are learning the hard way that they simply can't live up to the promises that they made before the November election.

They lied to you, now their job approval shows that people are now finding that out.

Congressional Bill For Accountability In Contracts

Well it's about time the government decided to rope in those who do business with the them and try to squeeze every dollar they can out of taxpayers. This bill, would significantly restructure how business is conducted between private contractors and the government. Now, if passed, we should hear less and less about government waste when it comes to private contractors. At least, in theory.

A Special Place In Hell

Tell me something, if you do a "martyr" operation, you go right to heaven right? Shedding innocent blood is strictly forbidden in the Islamic religion correct? That gets you a ticket straight to hell. I think we can all agree though, that if you put children in the back of your suicide bomb car and then get out of the car and detonate it with the children still inside, you're going right to hell.

This is the kind of monster's Muslims have had their religion hijacked by. So tell me Islamic leaders, where's the justification for murdering children? Tell me some bullshit lie about how this is all Allah's will. Some may point out Timothy McVeigh and his killing of 19 children in the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building. Well he was universally condemned and he was executed for his crimes.

So let's hear it Islamic clerics. Condemn these monsters who murdered innocent children or prove me right that you're not true Muslims and you're only just a bunch of thugs.

Navy Asserts "State Secrets" In Sonar Case

To tell you the truth, I don't really care if the Navy's use of sonar kills or injures wildlife. Sure, it makes me sound a bit cruel, but any tool that the Navy needs to help keep our nation and our allies safe, I'm all for.

Do you honestly think that China, Russia, or any other major military power would have a court case like this? We do more to make warfare more "humane" then anyone else on the planet. Other world powers would tell these environmental groups to "go fuck themselves", yet we give these people a voice, regardless of their cause.

Some People Shouldn't Breed

And these two idiot are prime examples. They let a toddler put a replica gun in her mouth. Regardless that the gun was a replica, do you think the child will know that when she comes across a real gun? This is exactly why some children are killed by guns in their own home. They don't understand what a gun is at that age.

My guns are locked away heavily because the children in my life aren't old enough to understand guns. When they are old enough, I will teach them about guns and especially gun safety. That way you don't have to come home from work and find your child with a bullet hole in their head and be devastated for the rest of your life.

It's because of idiots like this that we have people who want gun control to "think of the children."

Taliban Terrified Captive

Well no shit?? You mean they aren't all rainbows and sunshine? You mean they aren't all "the victims of American propaganda and are simple, peace loving people" like they like to claim? I am shocked, SHOCKED that this is true.

It does surprise me that they would behead one captive and not the other. At least he had the common courtesy to thank his rescuers.

This is the kind of enemy we are facing here people. These people can't be reasoned with, they can't be appeased. They only understand force. When you are dealing with people who only understand force, the only way to remove that threat and truly live in peace is to capture or kill them. It's as simple as that. Regardless of what you think, the American government and military isn't "out to get Muslims" like most liberals would like you to think. This guy was kidnapped and he wasn't anything but a journalist. He was doing an interview, he wasn't threatening them or anything such as that. So don't go thinking that if we "leave them alone" things will be all peachy.

Fourth Down - More To Go

Now if we can get "Chemical Ali", I can sleep a lot better at night. Saddam's former deputy was hanged this morning for his role in the 1982 massacre of 148 people in "retaliation" for the attempted assassination of Saddam.

He appeared frightened when he was about to be hanged. Good, I'm pretty sure that his victims were terrified during their final moments. Knowing death is a mere moment away, a million things are going through your mind. His final words: “There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet.” Maybe so, but the bottom line is that you won't be around to terrify anyone else and being hung for the deaths of 148 people is a pretty fair deal. Under Saddam's regime, you would have been tortured to death.

North Korea - Untrustworthy Again

So they are stomping their feet and not joining talks over the fact they don't have their $25 million in their account fast enough. What's to prevent them to get the $25 million and then refuse to dismantle their nuclear program? This shows you the kind of two faced people we're dealing with here.

North Korea is upset at Japan's insistence that the two nations settle issues related to Pyongyang's abduction of Japanese citizens in the 1970s and 1980s before taking steps to improve relations.

On Tuesday, the North's official Korean Central News Agency said Japan should drop the abduction issue and instead apologize and compensate North Korea for its 1910-45 colonial rule over Korea.

So North Korea wants Japan to drop their issue and North Korea should get an apology? They don't even have the nerve to offer apology for apology? Plus they want compensation for the colonial rule but they want to do nothing over the abductions? That's some balls the North Koreans have there. I say let the North Koreans starve it out. If they won't be reasonable about things, then they need to learn to lie in the bed they've made for themselves.

Lawmakers Threated To Take FBI's New Powers

Well it's the same as when my mother would give me a new privilege. If I abused it, she took it away. Unfortunately for the FBI, they are abusing powers that they have to track bad guys by the actions of a few.

If the FBI doesn't move swiftly to correct the mistakes and problems revealed in the report, "you probably won't have NSL authority," said Rep. Dan Lungren, R-California, a supporter of the power, referring to the data requests by their initials.

"From the attorney general on down, you should be ashamed of yourself," said Rep. Darrell Issa, R-California. "We stretched to try to give you the tools necessary to make America safe, and it is very, very clear that you've abused that trust."

An internal investigation showed that the FBI abused these new powers frequently. While I agree the the FBI and all law enforcement personnel need tools such as these to fight a tough battle against crime and terrorism, abusing the privacy rights of innocent American's cannot be tolerated and should be prosecuted if criminal activity upon the FBI's part is found. It's a simple matter of making this country continue along the path that was set out over 200 years ago. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Democrats Further Hypocracy

Wow, I didn't think the Democratic party could sink much lower, but I've been proven wrong yet again. During the election, they promised to cut out pork barrel spending for pet projects. Now, with the Iraq spending bill, they've added tons of new pork spending to it, including $500 million for wildfire suppression. They even managed to put in an extra $15 million for a Republican's constituents even though he didn't ask for it to be put into this bill.

It reeks of them trying to get Republicans to either vote for the bill in full, or be labeled that they voted "against the troops".

Live up to your campaign promises Democrats, or you'll find that your position as majority power holder in Congress will be short lived.

Bush Touts Alternative Fuels To Automakers

While I agree in principle with the need for the US to reduce it's dependency on foreign oil, I think that moving from one non-renewable source of fuel to another is just pushing back the deadline for when we have to find another energy source.

Personally, I am really digging the new car that runs on compressed air. Yes, it's ugly as sin, but the concept is very neat. Now some people might claim that all you're doing is moving the pollution from the cars to the power plants. Well, first off, power plants are much easier to control pollution as you only have to worry about one source instead of thousands or millions. Plus, you can easily throw a solar panel on your rooftop relatively inexpensively that will offset your increased energy usage if you so desire. Apparently, this air run car is going on sale for around $7,500 and has a bunch of luxuries such as GPS navigation, voice recognition, keyless entry and more.

Put one of those on the market, at roughly that price, and I'll buy one off the lot today.

Home Owner's Association Says: No Guns

Yeah...Good luck with that. The Constitution overrides all laws and there's no HOA on the planet that can tell me that I can't have guns on my own private property. When I owned a condo a few years back, I had an HOA try to tell me what I could and couldn't do, all the while trying to charge me a monthly fee. I promptly told them to go fuck themselves. Personal property and what goes on inside a home are the most sacred of privacy issues, so you can bet you'll have a fight on your hands if you want to tell a person they can't defend themselves.

Besides, if someone follows that rule and they don't have a gun when they are attacked, is the HOA liable for the attack? They left the person defenseless, so therefore, they must be held liable for any incidentals. :)

God I Hope This Is True

There's rumors going around that the White House is seeking a replacement for Alberto Gonzales. Granted, it would appear that most people want his ouster for the wrong reasons: the recent firings of US attorney's. While he should have been fired on the spot for questioning the rights of heabus corpus.
