So left wing idiots who are a big part of the Democrats core constituency want us out of Iraq right this second. The problem for Democrats in power is that they cannot bring our guys home immediately as the Iraqi's would disintegrate without our support for the foreseeable future. So what to do? Well many on the left have suggested that the Democrats cut off funding for the Iraq war. Thus, our guys can't fight without equipment and supplies. This will supposedly force George Bush's hand into ending the Iraq war.
The problem with this is that it's political suicide. If you are a Democrat, do you listen to your constituents and cut off funding? That would get you into a shitstorm like you wouldn't believe. You can bet your ass that in the next election that vote would come up and you'd be asked "why do you bitch and complain about the lack of proper equipment in the beginning of the war, but then later on vote to cut funding for it?" If you don't vote to cut funding, you risk losing a big part of your core voters and risk losing your job in the next election.
It boils down to doing what's right vs. what's popular. Let's see which way the wind blows for Democrats. I'm sure they'll do what's popular instead of what's right. Personally, I'd rather disagree with a politician and have them say to me "I voted this way because I thought it was right and here's why" rather then have a politician who has zero backbone and will do anything to remain popular, even if it is to the detriment of something or someone.

Spain Doesn't Get It
You don't negotiate with terrorists. It never works. It only emboldens them to make further demands or kill more innocent people. They learned that with the train bombings that killed 200 people, and now they are learning it again with another bombing by the ETA. Spain bailed out of Iraq shortly after the bombings and that further emboldened terrorists to think that they could get Spain to bend over and take it whenever terrorists had a demand. You'd better gain a backbone Spain, you have a lovely country and wonderful people. I don't want any more bad things to happen to you. You are at war with people who want to kill you. Kill them first. It worked for the Israeli's.

"Intelligence" Chairman Claims Iraq Intelligence Manipulated
He states :"We now know that the intelligence was cherry-picked and manipulated." But he doesn't want to do anything about it. Well we seem to have a problem here. Either A) He's lying about intelligence being manipulated, or B) He's too chicken shit to stand up and do something about it if intelligence was manipulated. If he had hard evidence that intelligence about the Iraq war was manipulated, he could cause a shitstorm like this country has ever seen. But he doesn't want to pursue it. Why? Plus, this guy is the incoming intelligence chairman, you'd like to think that he has a firm grip on who we're dealing with. He doesn't.
A Congressional Quarterly reporter recently gave Reyes a pop quiz about al-Qaida and Hezbollah. Reyes answered that al-Qaida, a Sunni extremist group, was "predominantly, probably Shiite." Asked about Hezbollah's religious roots, he replied, "Why do you ask me these questions at five o'clock?"
I'm not too comfortable having an Intelligence Committee Chairman not know basic things about our enemies. Especially enemies who've killed 3,000 Americans. I expect this guy to know more about Al-Qaeda and the Middle East then I do. I expect him to have satellite photos and HUMINT on each and every person known in Al-Qaeda. I expect him to have surveillance on each one of those people and each person that they have contact with. For him to have such a limited knowledge about such things makes me VERY nervous.
Well I hope he can recover from this major misstep. The Democrats are now in control of Congress and they have one of their own as the top guy on the Intelligence Committee. If something goes catastrophically wrong, then they will just prove my point that Democrats are weak on terrorism and intelligence gathering in general.

Good. If moderates stand up and tell him and their children that terrorism isn't right, recruitment into Al-Qaeda will dry up and they will eventually disappear, either through capture or being killed. So keep it up moderate Muslims, it's good to hear your voices.

Sorry the posts have trickled down to just 2-4 a day. The holidays are a busy time for me and I've been trying to keep up on keeping my usual 5-10 posts a day pace. With Christmas, Birthdays, and other festive events, it's difficult to keep up with posting. So I at least wanted to post about the major events going on. 15 Years Too Late - Saddam Executed
Good God, it's about time! This in my opinion was the biggest mistake of the first Gulf War. I think we should have gone after Saddam then and possibly avoided the second Gulf War. We had much more support then and could have easily taken over. But there were many problems with that line of thinking. First off, street to street fighting is very dangerous and we had "only" 250 or so deaths up to the point of driving Saddam out of Kuwait. Casualties certainly would have gone up. Secondly, George Bush Sr. didn't want to look like a bully on the international stage. We had completed our objective of driving Saddam out of Kuwait with casualties lower then anyone had ever dreamed of. Regardless of whether or not this quells any violence in Iraq, Iraqi's can now look forward to never having to deal with Saddam's brutality again.
By the way, I'm still waiting to hear from Democrats about protesting his execution since this was supposedly an "illegal and immoral war". I suppose we could have just asked Saddam nicely to get out. Oh wait, we already did that. Face it Democrats, you wanted Saddam out as much as us Republicans did. The only difference is, we actually meant it and were prepared to do something about it. You just like to second guess things and pretend to have a plan of action.

You Want To See Why We Support Israel So Much?
A friend of mine was kind enough to point me to this nice little document just declassified earlier this year.
How about Yassir Arafat knew and approved a plan to kidnap and murder US diplomats in 1973 by Black September. For those of you who don't know, Black September was also the group who carried out the kidnap and murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympic games.
So if any of the Palestinians want to know where our deep rooted support for Israel comes from, look no further then that document. And look who Yassir's sitting next to, his good buddy Bill Clinton with whom he visited many times in the White House.

John Edwards Running For President
Good luck buddy. Perhaps he hasn't read my article on why him and John Kerry lost in 2004. John Edwards simply has no charisma. He's also very wrong for president for many reasons. Here's a perfect quote "I've learned since the last campaign that it's great to identify a problem ... but the way you change things is by taking action."
Really John? You mean problems just won't go away by themselves? You mean to tell me that you're just NOW learning that you have to face up to your problems? You should have learned that by Kindergarten. You mean to tell me that you're confirming my thoughts that you and John Kerry really didn't have a plan of action but you told the American public that if elected, you would make things better?
This is the problem with the Democratic way of thinking. They love to Monday morning quarterback things and second guess tough decisions made by others, but they don't want to make tough decisions themselves.
A better quote from John Edwards "It would be a huge mistake to put a surge of troops into Iraq," Edwards said on ABC's "Good Morning America. "It sends exactly the wrong signal. We can maximize our chances for success by making clear we are going to leave Iraq and not stay there forever."
Our guys on the ground are asking for more troops. Experts are calling for more troops. Yet, John Edwards seems to know what's best militarily for Iraq? Even his running mate John Kerry foreign policy advisor Rand Beers is quoted that John Kerry "would not rule out the possibility” of sending additional U.S. troops to Iraq.
Then there's the well intentioned but laughable without a plan "Guaranteeing health care for every single American". How are you planning on paying for that John? Doctors aren't cheap. There's a reason for that. They go to school for a VERY long time and spend upwards of $250,000+ on education. Do you think that they are all of a sudden going to work for $10 an hour? Do you think that the hundreds of millions of dollars that goes into researching new drugs and treatments don't need to be paid back into the R&D budget for pharmaceutical companies? I don't know about you, but I want a doctor who makes a lot of money treating me. I want him to be the best in his field. My health is very important to me and I don't want some med school dropout working on me.
Then there's the usual "Strengthening our middle class and ending the shame of poverty," "Leading the fight against global warming," and "Getting America and the world to break our addiction to oil." promises that most politicians promise. Tell me John, where's your plan of action on these items? I want to hear some concrete ideas coming from the Democrats, not some pointless finger pointing and empty promises.
When George W. Bush pushed for tax cuts, I got more money in my pocket. What did I do with that extra cash? I paid off debt and bought items. Those items were taxed. That's how the Republican party makes tax cuts and additional income work.
As a side note, let's not end the shame of poverty. It sounds cruel, but hear me out. When I was poor growing up, there was a stigma attached to being poor. I hated it. I busted my ass to make my life better by getting an education, working hard, and making a life for myself. If you say "aww, you poor thing, let's just give you a handout", where's the incentive for that person to make their lives better? If I didn't have to work and could live comfortably with all the latest and greatest goodies, I certainly wouldn't. Sure we can offer job training and low cost services to the poor, and I'm all for that if the person has drive enough to make their lives better. But let's not say that if a person just doesn't want to work because they are lazy and don't want to get a job that they deserve more then a single mother who rides the bus to work and then on to school to make her life better for her and her children.
John Edwards simply isn't the man for the job.

And of course, Iran is stating that the arrests of the diplomats that were arrested and released because of diplomatic immunity "will have unpleasant consequences". Big shocker there. So we're to believe that we cannot go after people who are arming militia's who are attacking our soldiers over there? Fuel Requirement Changes Unfair - GM
You're telling me that the engineers at GM are so stupid they cannot think of a way to get better fuel mileage then their Japanese counterparts? That's bullshit and GM knows it. When things change or times get rough, you either adapt or die. It's just that simple. I'm willing to bet that if the CAFE requirements are put in place, all of a sudden GM will be able to meet those requirements. Honda and Toyota seem to do just fine with their fleet of cars, trucks, and SUV's and still make them fuel efficient. So why can't GM? Easy, they can, but they don't want to. They are complacent. And being complacent will get you eaten alive in the business world.

Iran Possibly Caught Doing An Act Of War
Oh man, what a Christmas present for me. Iranian military officials possibly caught inside Iraq planning attacks against the Iraqi security forces. If you ask me, if this turns out to be true, this is an act of war. This is what everyone was talking about when they said Iran was interfering with the security of Iraq. This is what our men over there were talking about when they said the explosives from IED's were coming in from Iran. Now we have possible proof of it and Iran will have some HEAVY explaining to do.
If you ask me, I say we squeeze some information out of them, and bomb whatever facilities that are responsible for causing grief to our troops and the Iraqi security forces. Here's to hoping that this is true. Come on, big money! No whammies!

A very nice and touching article by Marine Pilot Michael Bell. Duke Rape Charges Dropped
Big shocker there. But what's odd is that the prosecutor still hasn't dropped all charges even though the rape victim has changed her story multiple times and DNA evidence points away from the defendants. Rather odd indeed.

Russia, China Draggin Feet. Want Watered Down Resolution
Of course they do. Any unbalance of money could threaten their future growth. But now, the UN Security Council and Germany can't seem to agree on anything. They want to water down any resolution that they come to and you can bet the farm that Iran is just going to laugh at them anyways. Way to show a backbone guys!
It could come down to "If Iran gets the bomb and they attack us or an ally with that bomb, we should hold Russia and China personally responsible and see it as an act of war by the two powers". Wipe Iran off the map and kick Russian and China off of the Security Council for failure to prevent a catastrophe. It's just as bad as if someone stands idly by while their friend kills someone. That makes you an accomplice and makes you equally responsible for their actions.
People will scream at the US for not doing enough and we can point to Russia and China for blocking our attempts to make sure that they didn't get the bomb in the first place. Iran is hiding behind its older brothers and pointing and laughing hoping for protection.
Of course none of that will happen. Russia and China will proclaim that they did all they could and how it's all the US's fault for fanning the flames of hatred. It's ALWAYS the fault of the US. It's never the fault of the guy who's actually doing the wrong thing.

Russia Shooting Itself In Its Other Foot
Good Job Russia, now investors will likely think twice before investing any kind of money in your country for fear of you just taking the assets back. First Shell, now BP. Sooner or later, people won't want to invest in other industries and as a worst cast scenario, you could see foreign investments across the board dry up.

So a kid decides he's gonna rob someone. That someone shoots the kid in the head. The kid lives and decides that the police cannot have the bullet extracted from his head because it will provide evidence against him for attempted murder of the guy he tried to rob. Let's get out the popcorn and see how this one pans out.

UN Resolution Won't Stop Nuclear Work - Iran
Well no shit. The UN hasn't had teeth in any of their resolutions in a very long time. The only way to get them to notice is to get Russia and China on our side and get sanctions put through the Security Council. If that doesn't work, the Israeli's would be more then happy to take care of the situation for us. Russia and China need to see how grave a situation this is and look beyond their own greed. Russia may find out one day that the multi billion dollar nuclear reactor they are building is now a smoldering pile of rubble.

Sandy Berger - Idiot
So I wonder why it is that Clinton's National Security Advisor, Sandy Berger, decided that it was a good idea to steal classified materials. What's even more curious is that in his sentence, he's not allowed to have access to classified materials for only 3 years. If it were my decision, he'd never get access to classified secrets. I wouldn't even trust him with the Colonel's Secret Recipe.

Yeah, Like This Is Going To Help The GOP
Good going asshole, all you've done is piss people off and not bother to notice that you're alienating a section of America that is trying to live out the American Dream like everyone else. Here's a great quote: "I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped."
Well pretty soon we'll start having blacks and jews in the country too! Oh the horror! It's one thing to be against illegal immigration like I am, it's quite another to make such a statement that does nothing but alienate law abiding Americans. His original point (illegal immigration) is muddied by his blatantly idiotic statement.
Who gives a shit if a guy, freely elected, wants to swear in with a Koran, rather then a Bible? That's his choice. Unless he's doing something to undermine the United States and it's interests, then there's no reason to have this shitstorm.

Oh Waaah! Vernon Evans Jr machine gunned down Scott Piechowicz and Susan Kennedy and his only appeals now are how his sentence is racially biased and how he had ineffectual counsel because he didn't have a good enough investigation into his childhood. My childhood had an abusive, alcoholic father, divorced parents at a young age, abandonment by my father at the age of 10, and more, but I have never machine gunned down 2 people. Al-Jazeera Needs Some CIA Love
Has anyone else noticed that Al-Jazeera CONSISTENTLY gets Al-Qaeda tapes? They are always the ones airing these things and then they won't discuss how or when they get the tapes. I'm thinking that the CIA should infiltrate Al-Jazeera and find out where and how they are getting these tapes, trace it back to their source, and kill these fuckers. They love nothing more then to rub our noses in the fact they haven't been caught yet. Perhaps a bit of cloak and dagger could help things immensely. But then again, they could already be doing these things already. Hopefully they are smarter then I am and have a vast network of HUMINT going on in Al-Jazeera.

So a grandmother puts her one month old grandson through an airport x-ray machine?? It may be an "innocent mistake" by some accounts, but the last time this happened was in 1988.
Let's do some math here ok kids? Approximately 60 million people pass through LAX each year. Now, there's going to be some spikes and pitfalls in that number, but we'll use it as a rough estimate. It's been 18 years since 1988. That means that approximately 1.08 BILLION people have gone through security. That number is highly suspect, but let's low ball it can call it an even 500 million people. So only 2 people out of 500 million people have put babies in the x-ray machine at LAX? You have better odds winning Powerball.
It may very well be an "innocent mistake", but when you see other people putting luggage and laptops in a scanner, don't put your grandson in there with them. Take the baby where people go.

Najaf Handed Over To Iraqi Security Forces
Well 3 down and 15 to go. It's not without it's skeptics though.
Hikma Habib, a 27-year-old policeman in Najaf, was skeptical of the handover, saying previous ceremonies handing over smaller areas of control had made little difference.
Just a thought Mr. Habib, maybe if you guys got on top of your game when it came to security, we wouldn't have to come back and take control again. Maybe if you were a little more vigilant when it came to being infiltrated by rival religious factions, you wouldn't have to deal with as much bullshit in your job. Maybe if you arrested everyone who committed a crime, not just guys of opposite factions, you would have less security problems. Just a thought.

Cop Killer Gets Life
Why is it that this piece of shit gets to live the rest of his life on my dime? He killed Officer Joseph Longobardo and wounded Officer Donald Baker Jr. That's a death penalty case if I've ever heard one. We've put people do death for shooting civilians, so why does he get a pass when he kills a cop?
The better question is, what will his new life in prison be like? I'd like to know what a typical day in his life will be like. We all know that he'll never get to feel grass on his feet again. We all know he'll have to eat shitty food for the rest of his life. But what I want to know is, how miserable is prison really like?
If there's a prison guard out there, could you please make sure this guy doesn't enjoy a minute of his time for the rest of his life? I'd appreciate it, so would the families of the officers involved.

I think it's a good thing when someone performs well and they get a nice bonus. If you have a record year, you should have a record bonus. Plus, when people get bonus' of hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars, the local economy benefits greatly from the taxes and goods that are bought because of the new influx of cash. So, I'm waiting for the Democrats to say that bonus' are a bad thing for corporations to give out and how the poor who don't have anything should instead get the money even though they didn't work for the money to begin with. I Almost Had Respect For Hillary Clinton....Almost
Have you ever had an opponent or someone whom you've disagreed with so much that when they show a bit of backbone or you can agree on something, you develop a slight, ever so slight respect for them? I was that way about Hillary Clinton and her stance on the war in Iraq. She has said that she voted for the war, supported the president and his decisions, and stood by what she voted for. Now, she's turned tail and like most other Democrats, now renounces her decision to authorize force against Iraq.
It's one thing to say "I made a mistake and I regret it". It's quite another when you've seen evidence of Saddam being sneaky, hiding things, and firing on our jets patrolling the no fly zone and still wanting to give him a pass. Saddam needed to be removed from power. He was a threat to us and everyone in the region. He's a genocidal dictator who supported terrorist suicide bombers against Israel and who's regime was responsible for thousands of deaths. Saddam even was planning terrorist attacks against the US on it's own soil.
If you want to give a guy like that a pass simply because WMD's have not been found, you don't deserve my respect, even as my opponent.

Calling Out A Liar
I have had the misfortune of coming across an article in the Daily Utah Chronicle titled "Support Democracy - Buy Gas At Citgo". It was so full of misleading information and outright lies that I had to write to the editor and correct them. I think I might have come across as a bit of an asshole. Oh well. I guess that's the way the ball bounces. :) Here is a copy of my email below:
I happened upon Jay Richards article " Support Democracy - Buy Gas At Citgo" recently and I am amazed at the amount of false and misleading information that he has in this article. For example: "Out of all the top oil-producing countries in the world, only one is a democracy ". This is patently false. Here's a list of the top oil producers. So what you're telling me is that Canada, The US, Mexico and the U.K. don't have free and open elections?
Another false statement: "The fact is that if we were not so dependent on Middle-Eastern oil, there would have been no Sept. 11." Perhaps Jay does not understand that we were defending our allies in the middle east against Saddam's invasion forces and to remove him from Kuwait. Perhaps Jay also does not know that Saddam did indeed invade a small town in Saudi Arabia. Perhaps Jay also did not know that Osama Bin Laden offered his forces to help defend the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. When he was rebuffed for the USA, Osama was angry at that as well as the fact that we were on holy land as non Muslims. It did not matter that we were defending his fellow Muslims against Saddam. It did not matter that we were invited there by the king of Saudi Arabia. Also, It had nothing to do with oil at all. It had everything to do with doing what's right. If it had been about oil, we could have simply kept all the oil fields while we were still there.
Mr. Richards, your knowledge of the Middle East and past events concerning it is laughable. Your statements in this article are at best misleading, and at worst, out right lying. This article you have written is no better then a chain email that gets past around an office. I feel dumber for reading your article and feel sorry for your readers that might actually believe this nonsense you are spewing.
That said, I would be happy to set you straight. If you'd like to check out my website http://www.rightwinglunatic.com, as well as I would be more then happy to debate you on any current topic you'd like.

Minor Change
I will be making a very minor change to the site. I have changed a setting to archive my posts from monthly to weekly. I have done this because the site would load slow sometimes because there are days when I'll make 10 posts and then notice the site will slow down a bit because there are so many posts on the front page.
Since most of you have the site as an RSS feed, I doubt you will see a difference, but I thought it only fair to inform you of the slight change.

China Wants Economic Dialogue
I'm all for that, but let's not mince words. The current spying situation against the United States by China has me very concerned and made me not be as willing to be open with China as we could be if they weren't actively seeking out military secrets from us. Make no mistake, China is an economic superpower, but I get the feeling from them that they are just positioning themselves to become the next great superpower. But as a side note, Communism will never overtake that one thing that everyone has. Simple human greed. Capitalism works because everyone who wants wealth bad enough can get it.

North Korea Returns To Talks
Well let's see how well this goes. They have made all sorts of demands in the past, and to tell you the truth, I could really give a shit less about these idiots demands. They have proven time and time again that they cannot be trusted when we come to an agreement. The reneged on an existing deal that we made with them in the 90's and now we're supposed to trust them again? Then they have the nerve to demand that we not blacklist a bank with suspected laundering and counterfeiting operations going on?
What's even more ballsy is that Kim Kye Gwan, North Korea's Chief Negotiator demanded that the blacklisting be lifted as a "precursor". Sorry buddy, you're in no position to make demands like that. You wanted to be all high and mighty and we decided to cut off aid and let you twist in the wind. You've had plenty of chances to come back to the negotiation table and you spit in our face. So fuck em. Let them suffer the aid loss and isolation that they have painted themselves into a corner with. Let them know what it's like to renege on a deal with the USA. You want to be our friend? I'm ok with that. But don't think you can treat us like an asshole and get away with it.
Plus, if you decide one day that you want to transfer that nuclear technology to terrorists, I'll warn you; If they set a bomb off like that in our country or against our ally, don't be surprised if we nuke your country in retaliation. You're responsible for your nuclear arsenal.

Don't Disgrace Your Uniform
Everyone knows I'm the first one to defend the military and soldiers. Everyone also knows I'm the first to defend decisions that they make on the battlefield. Split second decisions mean the difference between living and dying. But I cannot condone drug dealing while in uniform. It dishonors yourself, your uniform, and your fellow soldiers.
If a soldier is in need of money for various reasons, there's plenty of things a young, strong man or woman can do as a side job to earn the extra cash he/she needs. We've all had rough times financially, but drug dealing isn't an answer. It's simple greed and dishonor.

Traitors living abroad
Now we may not be fair in that we tax our citizens when they live and work abroad, but there's no fucking way on God's green earth that I'd give up my citizenship because of it. If you want to give up such a precious thing simply because of tax reasons, then go for it. But you're a traitor in my eyes. Simply because you're willing to give up something that some people have risked their lives for over money makes you not worthy of being called an American.
People dream of coming to this country and making a life better for themselves and their families. If they do so legally, I'm more then happy to call them Americans.

You cannot curb First Amendment, or any part of the Constitution against American citizens simply because you are trying to combat a problem. I cannot see why additional troop levels in Iraq could be anything but helpful. Added security in problem areas can help get the country to stable enough levels to allow the Iraqis time to take over. Man, If I were the defense attorney in this case, I'd raise some serious hell and ask that the charges be dropped with prejudice. That way charges cannot be brought back against the accused. So the Indian Minister claims that in the past 20 years, 10 million infant girl children have been killed by their parents. Girls are apparently a liability to her parents and they murder the child. Now, I don't know if Indians took Biology 101, but if you have a nation filled with men and no women, you eventually die off. Simple as that. Well if that is the case, then stop taking our aid, looking at us to be the "world cop" when you're in trouble, and wanting us to do your job for you. How ironic! This company does deserve punishment for this simply because when they got in trouble in 1999, they promised to clean house. When 2004-2005 came around, some of the same illegal immigrants from 1999 still worked there. Time for a nasty fine and possibly jail for 2 executives! Rice Rejects Talks With Syria and Iran
I'm glad she did. Sure, dialog would be nice, but everyone knows that there would be some major strings attached to any resolutions that may come of the talks. Plus, she makes a couple of valid points "Rice said she did not want to trade away Lebanese sovereignty to Syria or allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon as a price for peace in Iraq" This is very important. Secondly, "If they have an interest in a stable Iraq, they will do it anyway"
There's already evidence that weapons and supplies are coming to insurgents from factories in Iran. This is an act of war in itself. Iran must be thinking that they can kill our soldiers, get concessions on its nuclear program, and all they have to do is stop sending supplies into Iraq. Personally, if I found out where the supplies were coming from, I'd order strikes upon the factory even if it were in Iranian territory. Let them know we're not fucking around. Iran needs to be backed into a corner with regards to its nuclear program as well as its efforts to thwart our efforts in Iraq.
As a side note, I did manage to see the rest of Ted Koppel's "Iran, the most dangerous country" documentary. I'm not too worried about the Iranian people rising up against us. Sure, there's people who don't like us, but when you see the "Death To America" crowd, they don't seem all that enthusiastic about it. They seem to just say it for saying it's sake.

Can I be heartless for a moment?
We have 3 climbers on Mount Hood in Oregon who are now in trouble and need to be rescued. Plus, the Pacific Northwest is now experiencing a nasty storm that has knocked out power to almost 1 million people.
First off, why go mountain climbing in the middle of winter when you are "lightly equipped". It's called personal responsibility people. It's not difficult to understand. You are going up a mountain in the middle of winter, you should reasonably expect to run into trouble. Now, during a 100 mph wind storm, they need help. Unfortunately, they may have to be up on the mountain longer because of this poor planning.
Sure, I hope that they come back alive and back to their families, but they should at least get a bill for all the rescue workers trying to find them. It's one thing when you're in deep trouble and prepared for such an event, it's quite another when you're "lightly equipped".

Ford Is Doomed
It's idiotic ideas like this that make me think Ford is filled with a bunch of executive and design fuckups. You have a Mustang, An American icon in muscle car lore. Now they are talking about possibly putting out a 4 door and even a wagon version of the car?? God damn it Ford, PAY ATTENTION! You're losing money hand over fist. You're not thinking things through. You need to bring out more cars that get better fuel economy, that are more reliable and that fit to the demographics of your cars.
The Mustang is a manly, muscle car. Period! Don't stray from that. If you need to compete with other car companies for a more versatile car, then bring out a different one. All you will do is piss off Mustang enthusiasts and your newer designs won't sell. This is why Honda brought out the Acura line of cars. They wanted to sell to a different demographic. They knew better than to change their existing cars that were selling well. That's why you don't see a "luxury" version of the Honda Civic. The Civic is designed as a reliable, fairly fuel efficient, inexpensive car. It's mainly for younger people and mom's. For the sports car enthusiast, they brought out the Acura NSX and the more inexpensive RSX.
So Ford, if you don't want to bleed cash for yet another fiscal year, leave the Mustang alone.

Jack's Back
Dr. Jack Kevorkian is set to be released from prison in June. I'm actually glad he's getting out of jail. I think that people do have the right to end their lives in the way they want. If someone is in pain or has less then a year or so to live, let them end life on their terms. It's not my business if they want to take a lethal cocktail of drugs or put a bullet in their heads. If I'm terminally ill and in pain, you can bet your sweet ass that I will be giving away my family's inheritance, saying goodbye to loved ones, and putting my mouth over a shotgun.
No one has the right to tell me to deal with the pain of an illness or injury. Self righteous types can go fuck themselves on that note. If Jack wants to help people end their lives, I really don't see a problem with that. If an animal is suffering, you put it down. So why is it any different for humans? Why should I suffer for another 6 months or a year all the while being a burden on my family? Better yet, why should a family member go to jail for helping end a loved ones life if they so choose? I can see if it were questionable whether a person wanted to die or not, but if someone made a video tape and said "I want to die, and my wife/cousin/brother, is going to help me do it and I give them permission to end my life", where's the harm?

Army Drops Death Penalty In Murder-Rape Case
I'll be the first one to defend the military for various decisions that they make in the heat of battle, but I won't be the one defending them if they rape and murder a 14 year old and her family. A soldier is about Honor, Duty, Country, and a host of other honorable traits that builds ones character. There is no honor in the rape and murder of a 14 year old girl and her family. This case has wrongfully accused written all over it. If you're appealing because you didn't do it, that's one thing. But, if there is no question of guilt and it's just a matter of appealing the sentence, fuck em. If they killed someone and a judge or jury found that they deserved to die, they need to step to the head of the line. This 30 years bullshit has taken its toll on the parents of the people killed here and they deserve better then this.

18 Months For 400 Pounds Of Pot?
Oh wait, his dad is the chief of police. The kid was facing 40 years and he got 18 months? Sounds a bit unfair don't you think? I know if I did a drug deal where a "partial payment" of $455,000 was made, I'd probably never get out of jail. But wait until he gets to jail. When they find out he's the son of the chief of police, his time will seem to go on forever. :)

Tell Leonardo DiCaprio About Global Warming?
Now, it's pretty well know that this guy is an environmentalist and he does "walk the walk". So I'll give him credit for that. But what does he really hope to accomplish by getting peoples ideas about global warming? It's not like he's a scientist who can do something about it. He's certainly not a world leader who can help bring about changes in the law that would help with global warming. So it just sounds too much like a publicity stunt unfortunately.

Saudi Arabia Wants Us To Stay
Even the Saudis want us to stay in Iraq. What's odd is that they oppose us talking with Iran. Kind of an interesting stance. Makes you wonder if they have an agenda. :)

Iran Poking A Bear
Good idea Iran. Why not poke at Israel saying that they will "soon be wiped out", while using the example of your good buddies the Russians?
"Just as the Soviet Union was wiped out and today does not exist, so will the Zionist regime soon be wiped out."
That's a real good way of keeping friends. "Hey, you know how our good buddies failed miserably and withered away? Israel will do the same!" That's what he's basically saying. Let's see how Russia reacts to this little slight when it comes to Iran's nuclear program.

Iran Nutjobs Having Holocaust Forum
So tell me, if you're going to have a "reasonable" debate on the Holocaust and it's depths, would you really invite a former member of the KKK? Debating the number of people murdered by the Nazi regime may be one thing, but calling it a "myth" is quite another. 6 million deaths is an estimate, and I believe it to be an accurate estimate. But there's no doubt that the Holocaust is real and did happen on a large scale. How else can you explain the photos, videos, camps discovered, piles upon piles of human remains?
Some people may say only 1 million were killed, some say 10 million. Does the number really matter? All that matters in my mind is that Hitler and his bunch were stopped doing it all together. Yes, there is a vast difference between 1 and 10 million. But the senseless slaughter of an entire people is still a slaughter. The truth is that when you murder one person or 10 million, you're still a murderer and you still deserve punishment. What does Iran have to gain from having this Forum? All they will accomplish is to inflame the passions of people already persecuted for who they are.

Fred Phelps Must Pay
Well I'm glad someone saw that this guy was a major league asshole. Sure, he has the right to say what he says, but he doesn't have the right to invade this poor families privacy during their most vulnerable time.
Fred Phelps is walking a dangerous line here. Sooner or later, someone in some soldiers family is going to snap and hurt or kill someone. The death of a family member, especially a soldier, can bring about major feelings within someone, and if Fred and his bunch are seen as spitting on the graves of these loved ones, it stands to reason that one day, someone is going to say "that's it".

Update On Acid Murder
Looks like our acid murder guy got convicted. Still a nasty way to go though. He faces a life without parole when he's sentenced. Glad to get this idiot off the streets.

90 Years For A 5 Hour Attack
I'm sure this kid will be popular in prison. They beat and sodomized a Hispanic kid over a 5 hour period. Plus, he decided to shout "White Power" during the attack. I'm pretty sure he'll find that while there are white supremacist gangs in prison, there are a whole lot of minority gangs that would love to cut his throat or sodomize him when he first mumbles "white power". While you're going to be in prison, I'm going to be living life, banging my wife, raising children/grandchildren, playing Playstation 3/4/5/6/7/8/9 and dying in a nice warm bed. Good luck boy, you're gonna need it for the next 90 years.

Oil Project Seized By Russia
This is a bit disturbing. So Russia isn't happy that suddenly gas and oil prices have shot through the roof and foreign energy companies who invested when prices were low, are now making vast profits. If this isn't a wake up call for us to get off of foreign energy sources, it should at least be a nudge. Plus, why would someone invest in Russian industries now if they would just be seized by the government later on when prices went up? Russia is shooting themselves in the foot for short term gains. If they continue this, watch their economy dry up.

1st Amendment Protections For Atkins?
So now a diet can now claim First Amendment protections? I didn't know that if you had faulty information in a book that you could do that. But on the flip side, who didn't assume that if you ate no carbs and nothing but meat that your cholesterol would go up? A little personal responsibility goes a long way to help clear up our court systems.
