Rice Rejects Talks With Syria and Iran

I'm glad she did. Sure, dialog would be nice, but everyone knows that there would be some major strings attached to any resolutions that may come of the talks. Plus, she makes a couple of valid points "Rice said she did not want to trade away Lebanese sovereignty to Syria or allow Iran to obtain a nuclear weapon as a price for peace in Iraq" This is very important. Secondly, "If they have an interest in a stable Iraq, they will do it anyway"

There's already evidence that weapons and supplies are coming to insurgents from factories in Iran. This is an act of war in itself. Iran must be thinking that they can kill our soldiers, get concessions on its nuclear program, and all they have to do is stop sending supplies into Iraq. Personally, if I found out where the supplies were coming from, I'd order strikes upon the factory even if it were in Iranian territory. Let them know we're not fucking around. Iran needs to be backed into a corner with regards to its nuclear program as well as its efforts to thwart our efforts in Iraq.

As a side note, I did manage to see the rest of Ted Koppel's "Iran, the most dangerous country" documentary. I'm not too worried about the Iranian people rising up against us. Sure, there's people who don't like us, but when you see the "Death To America" crowd, they don't seem all that enthusiastic about it. They seem to just say it for saying it's sake.
