Obama begins with a broad assessment of life in America in 2008, and life is not good: we’re a divided country, we’re a country that is “just downright mean,” we are “guided by fear,” we’re a nation of cynics, sloths, and complacent's. “We have become a nation of struggling folks who are barely making it every day,” she said, as heads bobbed in the pews. “Folks are just jammed up, and it’s gotten worse over my lifetime. And, doggone it, I’m young. Forty-four!”
From these bleak generalities, Obama moves into specific complaints. Used to be, she will say, that you could count on a decent education in the neighborhood. But now there are all these charter schools and magnet schools that you have to “finagle” to get into. (Obama herself attended a magnet school, but never mind.) Health care is out of reach (“Let me tell you, don’t get sick in America”), pensions are disappearing, college is too expensive, and even if you can figure out a way to go to college you won’t be able to recoup the cost of the degree in many of the professions for which you needed it in the first place. “You’re looking at a young couple that’s just a few years out of debt,” Obama said. “See, because, we went to those good schools, and we didn’t have trust funds. I’m still waiting for Barack’s trust fund. Especially after I heard that Dick Cheney was s’posed to be a relative or something. Give us something here!”
Well, let me explain a few truth's to Mrs. Obama.
First off, no one likes a hypocrite (magnet school).
Secondly, Health care is NOT out of reach in America. Need health care? Go to the hospital. Don't have health insurance? Most states have basic health insurance that ANYONE can afford.
Want better health insurance? Get a better job that provides it!
College is too expensive, and even if you can figure out a way to go to college you won’t be able to recoup the cost of the degree in many of the professions for which you needed it in the first place.
People, including Michelle Obama seem to have forgotten the main reason for college: To get a degree that will help secure a better JOB. It's not there so you can "find yourself", or simply sponge off your parents for 4 more years.
You're never going to get a good paying job with a degree in Dance (I wish I was making that up, but I know someone with a degree in that), Liberal Arts, Philosophy, or any other worthless degree.
Want a better job? Get a better degree and stop fucking around with stupid majors like that. Science, Medicine, Computer Sciences, Business Administration, these are degrees that pay well.
I managed to put myself through college through hard work, saving money, and student loans, and there is NO reason why anyone else can't do the same thing. If they say they can't, they aren't trying hard enough or they are lying. Period.
You see, Barack Obama can't win the election if everything is going perfectly. That's why they are painting this "bleak" picture of America.
If everything is running fine, then people will want to look into Obama's voting record to find out more about him. Which of course, is almost non existent. That is why him and Michelle are saying everything is going badly.
You won't win votes if you keep putting down someone's home nation.
