Ouch For Edwards

Sen. John Kerry on Thursday endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, saying the senator from Illinois is a "candidate to bring change to our country."

Sen. John Kerry says he's backing Sen. Barack Obama before a crowd Thursday in Charleston, South Carolina.

"Barack Obama isn't just going to break the mold," said Kerry, the Democratic presidential candidate four years ago. "Together, we are going to shatter it into a million pieces."

John Edwards now has a problem on his hands.  Granted, he was critical of John Kerry earlier, and this is simply John returning the favor (rightfully so).  However, the American public is going to see it as John Edwards has something wrong with him that prevents him from being an effective leader (such as being a Democrat).

Appearance is everything in politics, and this incident could very well spell the beginning of the end for Edwards.

One can only hope.
