It's still down a bit, but not nearly what it was. What people don't realize is that the stock market is in record territory right now. It has never been higher then it has just this year. Jobs are being created left and right, personal savings are up, debt is down, the economy is doing well. Sure, the stock market is a shaky place and even little things can send it one way or another, but overall, we're doing just fine.
The news from China that it's economy was slowing down was what started a chain reaction that went around the world and effected markets in every nation. China is a major world economic power and if it runs into trouble, it can have vast consequences across all markets.
