They won't even recognize Israel, so what makes them think that they deserve to have sanctions lifted? They have explicitly said "We will never recognize Israel. There is nothing called Israel," he told Reuters. "We, in the Hamas movement, will not abide by anything." You can't ask for something and offer nothing in return when you have a stand off like this. If they will never recognize Israel, then you can't tell me that if we just simply give them what they want that they'll all of a sudden become friendly. They will use that as propaganda against us and say "see! We stood up to the American's and we can do whatever we want."
It's called "Divide and Conquer." Let them figure out a way to pay everyone's salaries and let them feel what it's like to be so full of hate that they let it blind them. Once people get angry that they can't afford even the basics in life, you'll see a turn around in their attitudes or the Palestinians will simply vote them out of office.
