Cop Needs To Bone Up On Constitution

So a cop arrests a guy for swearing in public? I guess the cop didn't understand what "Freedom of Speech" means. This should have never gone beyond the county jail level.

"It cannot be seriously contended that any reasonable peace officer, or citizen, for that matter, would believe that mild profanity while peacefully advocating a political position could constitute a criminal act," the three-judge panel wrote in Friday's decision.

Every cop I know has looked at this and agreed with the Court of Appeals on this one. Every cop I know said they would not have even arrested this guy. Sounds like the police station have a nasty lawsuit on their hands. Hopefully the arresting officer learns from this and goes on to have a successful career. We've all done stupid mistakes at work, but unfortunately for this officer, his mistake made the front page of the news.
