Budget Surplus In A Year?

So the Federal budget is doing so well and is revenue is so strong, were it to continue in this way, we would have a surplus within a year.

Already, the federal deficit is shrinking toward about half the size that it has averaged since 1970, when analyzed as a percentage of gross domestic product.

We're not out of the woods yet, but the Congressional Budget Office shows a surplus by the year 2012. Funny how you don't hear about that on the evening news. I wonder why?
