Gates: Iran assured Iraq on weapons

Iran apparently has assured the Iraqi government that it will stop the flow into Iraq of bomb-making materials and other weaponry that U.S. officials say has inflamed insurgent violence and caused many American troop casualties, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Thursday.

"It is my understanding that they have provided such assurances," Gates told a Pentagon news conference. "I don't know whether to believe them. I'll wait and see." He said he did not know who in Tehran made the promise.

In other words, they've just admitted that Iranian arms have been going from them to the insurgents in Iraq.

Let's not beat around the bush here, they are basically admitting that they have been supporting the murders of US troops, an act of war in of itself.

Yet, what do you hear from liberals? "Bush is lying about Iran! His lies are going to lead to war!"

Not once do you hear them say "wait a minute, I do support the troops and they are getting shot at by Iranian supplied weapons. Iran should do something about it or pay a heavy price for their involvement" Why? Because they believe that it's all rainbow and sunshine land and if only they could see how we're all nice people, we'd get along and sing songs by the campfire.

Or, they'd say America is evil to the core and deserves to have it's soldiers blown up and shot at by a third party and shouldn't fight back in any way.

Take your pick, but that about covers 90% of liberals thinking.
