More Doom And Gloom From Hollywood

IF BARACK Obama doesn't win November's presidential election in the United States, "you can kiss the Democratic Party goodbye", the actor and director Robert Redford told an audience in Dublin last night.

Speaking at a public interview in Trinity College in advance of his conferral with an honorary degree by the university today, Redford said he hoped Obama would win because while John McCain "represents yesterday", the Democrat embodied the sort of change America needed.

Asked by Michael Dwyer, film correspondent of The Irish Times , if he was looking forward to "regime change" in the US, Redford said: "Yes. Where my country is at the moment, I'm not confident of anything. I'm hopeful.

"I think Obama is not tall on experience . . . but I believe he's a really good person. He's smart. And he does represent what the country needs most now, which is change.

Do these Hollywood types think before they speak?  I mean, first, they LOVE to give the "it's all over unless my guy wins".  It's all the same line of bullshit over and over and over again.

Then, they try to play up the hype without any substance.  "he does represent what the country needs most now, which is change."

Please explain to me this "change"?  You offer no substance.  You don't tell us the plan for getting us out of debt, you don't tell us the plan to get us out of Iraq, which, by the way, commanders have already said that Obama's plan would be disasterous, you don't have a plan for anything.

You just say "change" and expect people to fall in line like sheep.  It doesn't happen that way.  Americans, contrary to what you might think, do think and can read through bullshit.

While Anderson and his troops have a positive attitude, several commanders who looked at the Obama plan told ABC News, on background, that there was "no way" it could work logistically.

So, until you offer substance, your opinion means jack shit.
