Calling It How It Is

Phil Gramm, a top adviser to Sen. John McCain, on Thursday stood by his comment that the country is in a "mental recession," and said he was trying to say the nation's leaders, not its people, were "whiners."

Phil Gramm, left, is an economic adviser for Sen. John McCain.

Democrats blasted Gramm, who advises presumed Republican nominee McCain on economic matters, for saying Americans who have named the economy as a top concern this campaign cycle were "a nation of whiners."

While McCain is already distancing himself from these comments, I have to tend to agree with one part of what this man said:  A lot of people are turning us in to a nation of whiners.

People who didn’t get greedy during the housing bubble are doing just fine.  Yes, gas prices are significantly higher, but let’s take a look at something here.  If you drove the average 12,000 miles per year that most people do, and had a standard Honda Civic (or similar car) that gets around 30mpg, you’d be using around 400 gallons of gas.

Now, when gas was about $2 a gallon, you paid $800 a year, or around $66 a month.  Now with gas around $4.25, you are paying $1,700 a year, or $141 a month.

You mean to tell me that an increase of less then $80 a month is crushing you to the point where you are willing to make it a national issue over the Presidential election?

You really are whiners.  Yes, there does need to be something done, I am unsure of what it is, but for a nation where the average income is over $40k a year per person, I fail to see the reason for the massive uproar.

You could be like the Europeans who’ve been paying $9 a gallon, and paying well over $4 a gallon for YEARS!

If you bought a giant SUV that gets shitty gas mileage, too bad.  That’s the price you pay.

The one thing that does worry me is that the “mortgage crisis” that’s going on right now, McCain is talking about bailing these companies out.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ``are vital to Americans' ability to own their own homes,'' McCain said in response to a reporter's question during a campaign stop at a diner in Livonia, Michigan. ``They will not fail; we cannot allow them to fail.''

We can, and we MUST allow them to fail.  They made bad business decisions.  They are grownups, and if they haven’t figured out about responsibility when they are the CEO OF A FUCKING COMPANY, then they need to be fired.

I’m NOT paying for the bailing out of any company that makes bad business decisions.  I’ll use every IRS rule in the book against paying more taxes if they can’t get it through their head.

Some people were talking about a $300 BILLION dollar bailout of these companies.  That’s $1,000 PER PERSON for everyone in America.  That’s more then the increase you’ve seen in the cost of gas.

But you’re not as up in arms about that are you?  Why not?  You’re not paying attention, that’s why.

As for the “nation of whiners”, here’s a perfect example of how this has come to be.

Yes, he actually is serious about the term “black hole” being racist.  Yes, he’s a fucking whiner.

People who sue others for the most innocent things, fake idiots crying “racism”, politically correct people, what happened to you all?  Take a look at your father.  Chances are, he’s a man’s man.  He got up every morning, worked his ass off, and didn’t take shit from anyone.

If someone said something insensitive, he laughed it off.  He called people out for idiocy.  Now, we have teachers and schools teaching our young ones that it’s all about happy sunshine land, when it clearly isn’t.

So, let me explain something to you.  I’m a man’s man.  I like to go Sportfight events with my cousin and our friends.  I’ll have a drink, alcoholic probably.  I’ll eat a giant hamburger and wash it down with a bucket of soda.  Afterwards, we’ll all go out to a club where I’ll look at half naked women with a smirk on my face.  I’ll say insensitive things to people, I’ll drink until I’m drunk.  I’ll watch porn.  I’ll call a woman a “broad”, “dame”, or “skirt”.

I won’t apologize for my behavior either.  If you don’t like it, you can kindly go fuck yourself.  My friends are white, black, asian, Thai, and more.  We make fun of one another, including our races.  It’s all in fun, and everyone knows it.  No one goes home crying to mama, talking about how “those mean men said bad things”.

That’ll only make it worse if you did.  Then you’ll get called a “bitch” and then we’ll start teasing you, asking if perhaps you’re on your period.

I drive fast cars, faster motorcycles, and enjoy every minute of it.

I also take care of every child in my life.  Birthday’s come around, if they’ve been good, they get what they want for their birthday, within reason.  I’ve spent thousands over the years on my Godchildren, nieces, nephews, and children of friends.

My door is ALWAYS open if you are in trouble.  My wallet is too.  However, I’m of the “teach a man to fish” ideals.  I’ll help you out, but I’ll also offer up a solution to your problem if it’s possible.

I’ll swat your kids on the ass if they get out of line within my sight and you’re not there to pick up the slack.

Yet, we have panty-waisted idiots like this guy whining about how a “black hole” is a racist term.  Man up, you little bitch.  If your feelings get that hurt over something that minor, maybe a Midol will help.

We need to get tough on criminals, tell politically correct types to fuck off, let those who are idiots fail, and vote out politicians who aren’t representative of our views.

Do that, and there’s nothing that can stop us from being better then ever.
