DNC Superdelegate Puts His Vote Up For Sale

In this tight battle for the Democratic nomination we've heard a lot about the candidates courting superdelegates.

But, one superdelegate is courting the candidates. He says he'll sell his vote for a price. A very high price: $20 million.

Steven Ybarra of Sacramento says that eight-figure price is peanuts for the presidency.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't something like that illegal?  I know that you can't sell your vote in a general election, but wouldn't something like this be illegal as well?  Or is this another matter of corruption that the Democrats are willing to sweep under the rug like William Jefferson?
