Commentary: No racism in the presidential election?

Oh absolutely there's racism in this election. I can prove it:

Some want to know why it isn't racist when 70 percent of African-Americans vote for Obama but it is when 70 percent of whites vote against him.

The answer has to do with history. Over the decades, black Americans have had plenty of opportunities to vote for white people for president. And they have done so. But this is the first time that white Americans have a chance to vote for an African-American with a shot at the presidency. And what are they doing
?

Wrong. When you accept that many black folks are voting for Obama because of the color of his skin, then try to twist that into making it sound ok, and when white folks do it, it's wrong, you've made a racist statement yourself.

You're being hypocritical in thinking that it's ok for blacks to vote along race lines but it's not for whites.

Many are responding quite well. Obama won the votes of many, to borrow a phrase, "hardworking white Americans," in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming. But, elsewhere, as Obama said in a recent interview, people may need to get their head around the concept of an African-American even seeking the presidency, let alone winning it. That's understandable. There are places in this country where white Americans are still raised to think of black Americans as inferior.

And it's ok for black folks to be raised to believe white people are inferior? How is that not showing your racist undertones? Why is it wrong to say "hardworking white Americans", but it's ok to say "hardworking black Americans". Stop being a hypocrite. Even look at the comments on this story on CNN, they are talking about voting along gender and race lines:

I'm an independent and I'm voting for Obama.

Obama is the first black candidate ever that actually has a chance to win. It is also true that unless you've been black in america or a woman, you can't really identify and fully sympathize with the struggles they go through.

That's why alot of women support Hillary and a lot of black folk support Obama. They feel that they finally have a candidate who can identify with their struggles, their goals and that understands them
.

I vote along ideological lines. If you support lower taxes, lower spending, lesser interference in my life, I'll vote for you, even if you're a Democrat. If you can't understand those basic concepts, you're too incompetent to be in public office.
