Clinton apologizes to black voters

At a gathering of black newspaper publishers on Wednesday, Clinton tried to make amends.

"I rejected what she said and I certainly do repudiate it," Clinton said at the National Newspaper Publishers Association meeting in Washington.

Clinton was full of apologies before this group as she was confronted with various perceived offenses, including remarks considered racially insensitive that her husband, former President Clinton, made on the campaign trail.

"I'm sorry if anyone was offended. It certainly was not meant in anyway to be offensive," she said.

She even apologized for President Bush's lackluster response regarding Hurricane Katrina.

"I apologize and I am embarrassed that our federal government so mistreated our citizens."

Apologizing for Katrina? First off, people were warned DAYS ahead of time. Those who took those warnings to heart haven't had nearly as many problems as those who didn't. Also, why apologize just to black folks Hillary? Why aren't you apologizing, if you really mean it, to everyone effected by the hurricane? Why are you apologizing NOW for that? The hurricane happened a year and a half ago. If you were truly sorry for the treatment, you would have apologized a long time ago.

Anything else you'd like to apologize for Hillary that you have no control over? How about you apologize for gun violence, AIDS, taxes, and rude French people?

It was bad enough you did nothing about Ferraro, as it gave the public the image that you condoned her remarks, now you appear like Michael Richards or Don Imus when you try to "apologize" for things you really aren't sorry for.

At least Ferraro had the intestinal fortitude to say "I'm not sorry for my remarks", you are reinforcing the reputation you've earned that you'll say and do whatever it takes to gain or maintain power.

You're simply trying to appear like something you aren't: A politician who actually cares about the people they represent.
