Bush calls for quick, temporary tax relief to spur economy

Who's Bush's economic advisor?  He should be slapped across the face for such idiotic ideas.  We don't need "more money in our pockets"

What we need is less government spending, more lending companies to not try to prey upon idiart.bush.fri.pool.jpgots who want to over extend themselves on their mortgages, paying down the federal deficit, and going after government contractors who gouge our tax dollars away.

Those who over extended themselves on their mortgages will simply have to make due.  Sell their homes and move into apartments or buy a smaller home.  Those who cannot do that will simply have to file bankruptcy.  It's harsh and cold, but when you make financial decisions of great importance in your life, you need to understand the repercussions of future events or hire an attorney to help with those decisions.  If you cannot afford the attorney, you shouldn't be making the decision.

Government spending is completely out of control.  Democrats are notorious, especially John Murtha, for trying to practically buy American votes with pork spending.  Get that under control and the economy will rebound.

Send government contractors who conduct fraud or price gouge the government to jail.  Only then will you see people start to shape up instead of seeing the US government as some kind of "piggy bank".

It's not brain surgery folks.  We simply need to cut the fat out of our budget and if that means that some people need to go to jail and some people need to file for bankruptcy, then that's just the way it's got to be.

That also means that pie in the sky ideas like Universal Health Care isn't going to happen.

For example, last night I went to see my Grandmother.  My Grandfather is in a health care facility right now because he has cancer.  I asked her if she needed help with money or needed a person to come check on her.  She said she was worried about the cost of Grandpa's medications.

Now, I could have said "well, let's go see if there are any government programs that will pay for it", but I didn't.  My first words out of my mouth were: "If you need medications, you send me the bill and I will pay for it", and I meant it.  I work hard for my money, I paid attention in college, and I earn an excellent living.  I don't need government hand outs for the things I have in life.  I am self sufficient and my Grandparents were the ones who taught me that extremely valuable life skill.  So when I see people do the "poor me" attitude, my first thought is: "pick yourself up and forge ahead".  I simply cannot stand people who wallow in self pity.  Yes, bad things happen to good people, but those who are reliant on the government for basic needs are going to find themselves in a world of hurt once the gravy train runs out.  Those of us who are self sufficient won't have a problem at all.
