NIE And Olbermann

Oh Mr. Olbermann, how I do enjoy you.  You open your mouth now about the NIE report, yet, you simply either didn't read it or you ignored vast portions of it:

"In sum: A stopped program could be restarted by passing knowledge Iran does not have to a hidden program of the existence of which there is no evidence."

He asked about vindication but yet, the report actually DOES vindicate the Bush administration in their concerns over Iran's covert nuclear program, which the NIE actually does say existed.

The Ambassador Sherman woman says "the American people don't know what to believe", yet the NIE TELLS YOU what happened, if you want to believe that report.

He then goes on to talk about this statement in the NIE ""We judge with high confidence that in fall 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program."  But what he leaves off is this statement "We also assess with moderate-to-high confidence that Tehran at a minimum is keeping open the option to develop nuclear weapons"

Now of course, the Ambassador shows her bias by saying that all the Democratic nominees for President support "vigorous diplomacy", yet she fails to mention that many Republican ones do as well.

Stop cherry picking your statements Olbermann.  You're starting to act like you claim Bush does.  I thought you were more interested in the truth rather than the partisan politics?

Oh well, I guess it's really my fault.  I thought you were a journalist, instead of a former sportscaster who simply is looking for headlines instead of looking for the truth.

And what do you think of the very popular view by a leading Israeli analyst Obadiah Shoher? He argues (here, for example, www. samsonblinded.org/blog/america-arranges-a-peace-deal-with-iran.htm ) that the Bush Administration made a deal with Iran: nuclear program in exchange for curtailing the Iranian support for Iraqi terrorists. His story seems plausible, isn't it?

While it does seem possible, I have very large doubts that actually happened.

If the Bush administration made peace with people who were supporting the murder of US troops and it were to be found out, I think the uproar over it would end up with his impeachment.

Sure, it sounds neat "peace deal" and all, but why rally around getting everyone on board for your sanctions against their nuclear facilities, and then suddenly drop it?

There's too many "what if's" for my tastes, but I've seen weirder things happen in the world of back door political deals.
