Politicians, please take note of the idiotic idea of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's shitstorm over his idea of illegal aliens getting driver's licences.
I know my ideas are radical sometimes, but I have a solution that will fix 99% of your scandals and blowups. Govern from your own personal beliefs instead of pandering to one group over another. If you govern according to right and wrong, you're likely to come out ahead almost 100% of the time. If you're wrong, you can simply explain to voters how you came to the conclusion that you did and most people are smart enough to say "I can see how he would think that".
Instead, we have morons like Spitzer wanting to give a privilege to someone who doesn't belong in this country.
Want to get re-elected? Don't do dumb things like this.

wasn't Spitzer using common sense approach to at least get a decent population of illegals - doesn't mean having a drivers license enables illegals to usurp their illegality - does it??
ReplyDeleteFor once, I think that NY has such a Governor that doesn't pander - for a change. He speaks and operated from both his heart and his head.
So tell me this, why do illegal aliens need a driver's license? They aren't supposed to be here, thus, aren't supposed to be driving. Driving is a privilege and one that should only be enjoyed by American citizens.
ReplyDeletePlus, with a driver's license, you can do a whole lot more then just drive, it's a gateway id that can be used to get all sorts of goods/services/ and a great way to gain a new identity.
