American ingenuity at it's finest. What's better about it is that it's "energy positive", meaning that they get more out of it then they put into it.
In laboratory experiments, their reactor generated hydrogen gas at nearly 99 percent of the theoretical maximum yield using aetic acid, a common dead-end product of glucose fermentation.
"This process produces 288 percent more energy in hydrogen than the electrical energy that is added in the process," said Bruce Logan, a professor of environmental engineering at Penn State.
That means that cheap, abundant hydrogen fuel may very well be on it's way to a car near you soon. Personally, I like electric cars better as electric motors provide torque immediately, instead of higher in the power band. Plus, I can create electrical energy from solar panels on the roof of my house and tell OPEC to go fuck themselves at the same time.
I've simply have had it with dealing with nations that treat us like shit, openly tell us they aren't going to try to ease prices, and have us have nothing to do about it. You think Saudi Arabian princes can afford private jets when the demand for their oil plummets? You think they'll be able to afford to fund terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah?
Cut off the funding to them and you'll watch a ton of fun little things happen in the Middle East. Get rid of the demand and you'll see them start begging for help in various ways. And we can tell them to go fuck off when they do. We just have to get off our asses and make a car that doesn't deal with oil from foreign sources.
